In a kingdom where magic is hated and forbidden by the king, there is one thing that even he cannot stop with all his might. Soul marks are magical bonds that unite two souls meant for each other. Soul marks also help you feel what your soulmate feels, but only if they keep the connection open, otherwise the most you can feel are just tingles or a shadow of what they really feel. They are imprinted on the skin and come in different forms from one person to another. They are meant to be identical only to their exact copy. Usually the soul mark is in the same place on both people, but there are a few exceptions that no ordinary person knows about. These exceptions are rare and there are only a handful of such bonds in 100 years. When a being of magic is bound to a soul that has no affinity for magic, the soul marks are in different places because even if fate has bound them, even she does not know what can happen between two souls so different. Usually the chance of them meeting is almost impossible, but when destiny has a say, even the impossible disappears.
