Our future kids told me we'll be really great together

Chapter Text

Poseidon was calm.

Deadly Calm.

The kind of calm that set off alarm bells in Apollo's head.

"Apollo, explain yourself," Poseidon spoke.

"How am I to explain myself? These kids are from the future! You can't blame the current me for things the future me has done!"

"He's right." Delia said, stepping closer to the both of them, "You can't blame Dad for something he hasn't even done as yet."

The other kids nodded in agreement, not liking the way their grandfather was acting towards their dad.

Poseidon's face twisted in anger. "It doesn't matter! I have made it clear multiple times that no god or goddess should involve themselves with my son."

Apollo was speechless.

Sure, he was aware that Percy Jackson was blessed in the looks and power department, but he didn't understand what would prompt the future version of him to risk Poseidon's wrath by pursuing his son.

The other gods watched on, clearly amused with the situation.

"I will not take the blame for something future me has done." He finally spoke.

Poseidon's eye twitched.

Brio and Lyra were both holding onto his right leg, clearly unhappy with the way their grandfather was acting.

Apollo doubted Poseidon would attack him while the children were so close, but he still wanted them out of the room just in case Poseidon lost it.

He could put up with a lot of things, but his kids getting hurt was not one of them.

He was about to order his kids to leave the room, but Charlus spoke before he could.

"Grandpa, please don't be mad at Dad. Mom loves him, and he loves Mom too. They've been married for years!""

Apollo's eyes widened.

The other gods let out gasps.

He had just assumed Percy Jackson was just too physically irresistible to future him, so he kept coming back. He would have never thought there was love and marriage involved.

"Love? Marriage?" Apollo spoke.

Cyrus smiled. "Yes, you guys are happy together. We're a happy family. You guys are really great together."

His other kids nodded along in agreement, and Apollo felt as if he were hallucinating.

He could not picture himself in a marriage.

He was supposed to be an eternal bachelor.

Why would he marry a demigod?

He turned to Poseidon and saw that the god looked to be in a state of shock.

"You must have forced him." Poseidon whispered.

"Excuse me?"

"YOU MUST HAVE FORCED HIM TO MARRY YOU."

"YOU SPEAK NONSENSE."

The other gods tensed in their thrones.

They did not want to be involved in a Poseidon vs Apollo fight.

Apollo was angry. Poseidon was accusing his future self of forcing Percy to marry him with absolutely no proof.

"You have no proof of this. The kids said that we are a happy family!"

"They are only saying this because you are their father."

"Hey, that's not true," Delia spoke, her face clouded with anger.

Apollo appreciated his daughter defending him, but he did not want her to get involved in a godly argument.

Poseidon frowned at her, clearly annoyed at her for defending Apollo. "Please just stay out of this."

He wasn't happy about what her existence meant, but she was still his granddaughter, and he didn't like seeing her anger directed at him.

"I adore you, Grandpa, but you can't treat my dad like this!"

The twins tightened their grip on his leg. Apollo could sense how anxious they were.

Poseidon sighed loudly. "How could Percy be so reckless? Even Hermes would have been a better choice than Apollo."

He ignored the offended noise that Hermes let out.

Apollo's eyes narrowed. "What's that supposed to mean?"

"You know exactly what I mean."

"Are you trying to imply that I can't be a good husband to your son?"

"Not just my son. You can't be a good husband to anyone."

The other gods looked ready to bolt out of the room.

The kids looked on in shock and disappointment. This was not the grandfather they knew.

Apollo was furious. He opened his mouth to say something that would no doubt enrage Poseidon, but before he could, Lyra let out a loud cry.

"Lyra?" Apollo looked down at the girl, his anger dying down at the sight of his daughter's frustrated face.

Lyra looked at him with teary eyes, grabbed Brio and disappeared.

Lyra and Brio disappeared...

Poseidon's face was filled with confusion.

Apollo turned towards his kids; they looked worried but not shocked.

"What just happened?"

"Um, I'm pretty sure Brio and Lyra teleported somewhere," Cyrus spoke.

"What?"

"Err, Brio and Lyra aren't demigods."

"What?"

"We were born before Mom became a god. Brio and Lyra were both born after. "

Apollo was once again speechless.

Notes:

This was supposed to be a one-shot, but as I was writing this, I realised if I put everything I wanted to write into one chapter, then I'll be putting out a ridiculously long chapter.
