Chapter Text
(Takes place after chapter six.)
“So, ever’one saw that conjuring s**t or was that just m’.” Greed, ever the one to talk, was the first to comment on the happenings that had befallen the normally ‘peaceful’ land, ‘peaceful’ with definite quotation marks. Solitude was confused how conjuring even applied to this situation, to her it seemed obvious what was going on, or she at least had a couple of suspicions. The fire cracked around the three as she side-eyed the stretchy one, Fear still sat on the ground, shocked and nerve-racked from everything that had happened, which in comparison to last time wasn’t much but still more intense than anything that has happened within the last couple of weeks. And now the one person who could supply them even a tiny bit of information was awake again with no way to reach them, if Solitude was him, she wouldn’t want to sleep after all this as well.
“Is an’one gonna answer m’?!” She was slightly annoyed that he’d yelled, since it always said it hated yelling and all, even if the reason it gave was slightly really disturbing. “We heard you Greed, loud and clear. Have you thought that we are still processing whatever the hell just happened??” The yellow brat stopped moving for a second, before letting out a loud groan… this guy! “UGHH! Do y’all hav’t take s’ long with everythin’?” That royal pi**ed Solitude off, I mean, currently one of them was on the verge of a panic attack and she was still trying to sort out if any of this was real, WHAT THE H*LL WAS HIS PROBLEM, so she did the responsible thing and… jumped him. (Think phantom foxy jumpscare but Solitude.) The sounds of grunts and tussling finally snapped the eldest out of his spiraling thoughts, standing up and running over before grabbing her off of the next in line. They held her away from himself as she tried to get back at Greed, squirming all around in the much taller one’s grip, the only words that could be made out were the repeatedly said “LET ME AT HIM!”
“I’m not letting either of you leave this area until one of you explains why this is happening, I wish to be given answers, please.” Solitude paused her squirming, still looking like a soggy cat in his hands, and still glaring daggers at Greed. “Well‘d love ta explain it to ya, but I ain’t really sure what ‘append 'either.” He finally stood up, looking at the restrained Solitude still being held above the ground in their arms, which he was very thankful they kept her away from the ground. Seeing him stand only made her madder, the squirming starting up again, it probably looked like a child being held in someone's arms. “Maybe I should get outta here…” He mumbled under his breath, beginning to turn away before a hand on his shoulder told him all he needed to know. He was not dismissed yet. “Greed, tell me why your sister is trying to kill you, or I’m taking away your collections.”
Now you may threaten his life, you may threaten his corn but you may not threaten his precious collections. They are what has kept him sane all these years while being trapped with what is essentially a growling cat, an anxious concern and a little sister who you would never catch willingly spending time with anyone else. And they knew that, and they still said it. “Ya wouldn’ dare.” Greed turned to face them, watching the purple one with narrowed eyes. “I shall if you do not answer my question immediately, why did Solitude attack you?” Greed, still very cautious of Solitude who had since calmed down and was now just squirming to be let down, didn’t really want to admit that it was his fault she came after him, so he stayed silent. Fear sighed seeing that he wouldn’t respond on the matter, they really wanted to make sure nothing bad happened but no one would give them answers.
“Solitude, will you grant me some kind of response?” Finally, she got the chance to explain herself! “He said to hurry up just to answer his question, after whatever the hell that was! He was being dumb!” Fear sighed, at least he’d quelled his concern that something was genuinely wrong, but you’d think that either one of them would have gotten more responsible since it’s been years. But they still fight like children at every opportunity they get their hands, both big and little, on. “I think we should leave the recent happenings until later when we have a viable source of information, as well as you both needing to calm down on your own.” They moved before protests could come, picking up greed by a random pair of arms.
He moved towards the exit of its home, going to the closest drop off point with little to no talk back from the two held beings. They finally reached the plaza, the place still in the exact same state Fear had left it in while hurried. They moved over, picking up the tipped over watering can with a hand and placing it upright so no more water spilled for nothing. Checking around for any other abnormalities, they found none more and therefore continued over to the lake of Loneliness. They moved through it all on foot, wanting to make sure she arrived safely, they couldn’t stand to lose anyone else. Solitude was put down on the edge of her home, a gentle hand that had just carried her now placed on her head. Caressing the top of her head as a goodbye, Greed who was still being firmly clutched by Fear waved bye as well while she sunk into her watery home all alone.
Greed was the next to be dropped off, the walk to his home was severely easier as the journey was essentially halved. When they reached the entrance to the corn maze, he had insisted on helping navigate since, from his words, he was ‘incredible’ at mazes. So unlike how long it would usually take for them to move through the relatively easy maze, it took nearly an hour just to get half way through. In the end, Greed fell asleep in their grasp and they managed to do damage control and find the center, which all in all took about three (3) hours. At the middle sat the pile of mostly stolen gold and trinkets that he always insisted was ‘as good as any bed’. Though Fear highly doubted that fact, he still laid him on it with no choice of where else, the pile literally took up the whole floor, they swore it was more organized the last time they’d visited. They would have to get him a blanket of some sort to keep him warm at night, later things.
When Fear finally got back to the plaza with much less difficulty than they had actually getting there in the first place. They began to finally move towards their own home, the entire journey being much shorter than any other seeing as the larger part of their carried weight was now alleviated. When they finally got home and entered their home, they didn’t have enough energy to make it to the bed, instead collapsing onto their sofa and immediately feeling droopy eyed. A nap wouldn’t be a crime right now, especially with all that has happened, it’s probably been the most eventful day in a good few months. They could figure out the specifics of what is happening when Player returns with, hopefully, more context than any of them had. Sleep sounded too nice to resist now, as they drifted off into thoughtless sleep.
