Summary
To leave Leon would be to cut a thread with which Merlin had been weaving a tapestry. In cutting it, in completing it, they would be left with a stunning piece of craftsmanship, but they would no longer be the working thread with which the beauty was made.
When the Camelot that they knew falls, Leon and Merlin part ways. A decade on, an arrangement is made to meet each year when the leaves change colour. As the world around them begins to alter, they both find themselves grasping for a familiar face. Immortality may skew the perception of time, but even they can't keep one another at arm's length forever.
