Work Text:
Marinette was impressed by the new girl, Lila.
She knew so many famous people and travelled around the world, so why wouldn’t she be?
Marinette began to get suspicious.
“Is it just me, or does Lila never come through on her promises?”
“She’s just had bad luck, girl,” Alya said, “something always comes up.”
“I have bad luck,” she pointed out, “yet I usually manage to keep my promises.”
“She does have a point,” Alix agreed.
“Are you sure you're not jealous?” Alya said.
“Of what? Adrien has repeatedly made it clear he’s not interested in her, and I know plenty of famous people.”
“That’s true,” Alya admitted, “I don’t even know why I said that.”
The rest of the girls became suspicious.
“It’s not just you,” Juleka murmured.
“Yeah,” Rose agreed, “I’ve been patient, but she keeps making excuses without actually apologising.”
“I’m sure there's an explanation,” Alya said, though even she sounded unsure.
“And every time someone accomplishes something, she starts another story that somehow involves the same subject,” Mylène pointed out.
“It’s annoying,” Alix muttered.
“So she’s a little vain,” Alya defended, “No one’s perfect.”
“And there’s the time she conned her way into Adrien’s house and sent a photo of her kissing him on the cheek to every girl on his contacts list,” Kagami reminded them.
“What?! She did?” Zoé exclaimed.
“Oh, yeah, that was before your time,” Alya said.
“And that didn’t raise any red flags!” Zoé continued.
“Maybe we can look into her,” Sabrina nervously suggested. She had only recently joined their group.
“Why is no one else concerned about this?” Zoé asked.
“Fine,” Alya said, “But only to settle this once and for all.”
“Seriously, why are none of you concerned?” Zoé asked again.
“Then it’s settled,” Marinette said, and they dispersed.
“Urgh!!!” Zoé groaned.
Lila had lied! Everything she had ever said was a lie!
“She has to pay for this,” Alya said with controlled anger.
“Are you going to expose her?” Rose asked.
“There is another option,” Marinette told them.
The girls looked at her.
“Are you suggesting what I think you’re suggesting?” Alix asked.
“Oh, yeah. Meet me at my house tonight. Tell your parents we’re having a sleepover.”
They seemed like normal girls with a normal life, but there was something about them that no one knew yet, because they had a secret… they were a witch coven.
They gathered around a cauldron, “A voodoo doll?” Rose asked, “I know she needs to be punished, but I don’t want to kill her.”
“Don’t worry, it’s a non-lethal voodoo doll. If, for example, the doll caught fire, Lila would just get super sweaty.”
Everyone looked relieved (Except Alix, who seemed mildly disappointed).
“Do you have a piece of hair?” Marinette asked.
“I got into her locker, and weirdly, her hairbrush wasn’t used, but luckily, I found an eyelash.”
“That will do.”
Alya put the eyelash in the cauldron, and the girls held hands.
They began chanting under the Halloween moon until the cauldron glowed a green hue.
Marinette held the doll over the cauldron, and it began to glow as well.
It was done.
Lila was walking down the street.
Marinette poked the dolls back with a pin.
“Ow!”
Poke.
“Ow!”
Poke.
Ow!”
Alya put the doll in her freezer.
Lila shivered, her teeth chattering.
“Phew,” Kim said next to her, wiping his sweaty brow, “it sure is hot today.”
Lila glared at him.
Juleka stretched the doll as far as it would go.
“Aaaaaaaahhhhhh!” Lila cried out as her arms stretched out toward the ceiling.
Alix hooked a car battery to the doll.
Bzzzzt!
Lila’s wi–hair was all spiky.
Kagami put a wooden chest on the doll.
“Ack!” Lila cried out as she felt flattened.
Rose played rock music to the doll.
“Why can’t I get this tune out of my head!” Lila yelled.
“I hate it when that happens,” a nearby student said.
Mylène buried the doll.
A pile of dirt appeared over Lila and fell on her.
Zoé spilt itching powder on the doll.
“Why am I itchy?!” Lila cried as she scratched herself.
Sabrina put the doll in her washing machine.
Lila became wet.
“What?!”
The washing machines started turning.
“Wahhh! Wahhh! Wahhh!” Lila spun in the air.
The cycle ended.
Lila landed on the floor.
The next cycle started.
“No, not again! Wahhh! Wahhh! Wahhh!”
Lila looked around the classroom with paranoid eyes.
“Do you think we went too far?” Alya asked.
“Nope,” Alix said.
“Regardless, I’m going to have to ask you to hand over that doll.”
That whirled around to see Mme. Bustier.
“Doll? What doll?” Marinette asked.
Mme. Bustier’s eyes briefly glowed, “Now, girls, I’ve let you have your fun, but Lila has had enough.”
Marinette wordlessly handed over.
“Thank you, I’ll be sure to de-power it tonight.”
The girls stared in shock as she walked to her desk.
“So, she’s a witch too,” Alix said, “Who knew?”
