Chapter Text
Dodge brawl
In the last episode of Total Drama Island, our campers had to run 20 kilometers around the lake, aiming to reach the main lodge to enjoy a delicious buffet of sleep-inducing food made by Chef.
After stuffing themselves, our campers had to endure a challenge to see who would be the last to fall asleep. I wonder who had that evil idea—oh yeah, I did.
Heather orchestrated the first Total Drama Island alliance by convincing Lindsay and Beth to join forces with her. After three agonizing days, we finally had our winner: Duncan, who won the challenge for his team.
The Gophers faced their first elimination. In the ceremony, the loser was between Justin, who didn't even try to compete, painting his own eyelids, and Owen, who walked around the camp naked. In the end, it was our supermodel who had to walk down the Docks of Shame.
Now the teams are back to having an equal number of members. Who's going to be the next to fail? Will Duncan stay awake this episode? And who will take the next humiliating walk down the Dock of Shame? Stay tuned for the most dramatic campfire ceremony yet on Total! Drama! Island!
After the brutal challenge of "Awake a Ton," everyone was in the cafeteria, still trying to recover from the challenge. For some reason, the Killer Bass looked worse than the Gophers, except for Lincoln and Eva, who, although they still looked kind of tired, appeared better than their team in general.
"I swear! There's this person in the woods who was humming a tune that lured Trent and me to them, and then we fainted!" Gwen said to her teammates, trying to explain how she and Trent had fainted in the woods.
"Yeah, their voice was like a hypnotic wave." Trent commented, agreeing with the goth.
"So you want us to believe that there's some kind of terrestrial siren that lures people and make them sleep?" Heather asked with her arms crossed. "Please, it would be more believable if you said you left to make out and someone sneaked up to knock you two out."
That commentary made the faces of both Gwen and Trent turn red.
"We were not making out!" Gwen growled. But before the situation escalated, Chris arrived in the cafeteria.
"Hello campers, how are you all?" Chris greeted with his grin, receiving groans from both teams. "Whoa, what happened, Bass? You don't look like a victorious team." the host said, mocking the state of said team.
"Harold snored loudly all night." Geoff explained tiredly. "We barely slept."
"Whoa, four nights with no sleep? How much are you hurting, dude?" Chris asked Duncan, who had his head on the table.
"WANNA FIND OUT?!" The punk snapped at the host.
"No, no… thanks… it's cool." The host said a little nervously, lifting his hand in surrender.
After that little exchange, Harold, who was the only one missing from the Bass team, walked in, but there was something different about him because someone had drawn a mustache on his face, making everyone laugh as he passed the tables.
Sitting at his team's table, Harold, confused about why everyone was laughing at him, finally asked.
"Okay, what?"
"Someone messed with your face, dude," Geoff said, mocking the geek.
Looking at his reflection in a spoon, Harold didn't find it offensive or funny; on the contrary, he found it pretty cool.
"Hey, sweet 'stache. What do you think, Linc?" he asked the white-haired boy, who came to be one of the best friends he had ever had in his life.
"You… are ridiculous." Lincoln replied, smiling amused, also finding the drawn mustache funny.

"Since we got to the camp, Lincoln has been one of the best people to talk to," Harold admits. "We have some similar tastes, and I feel that he really respects me."

Meanwhile, at the Gophers' table, Heather began to whisper something to Beth and Lindsay.
"So, let's go over the rules one more time. Number one, I am the captain of this alliance, so I get to make the rules. Number two…?" The queen bee asked, and surprisingly, it was Lindsay who completed the sentence.
"Breaking the rules can result in getting kicked out of the alliance?" Rhe blonde guessed.
"Good. Number three, I can borrow any of your stuff without asking, but my stuff is strictly off-limits." Heather finished.
"Hm… I don't think I like that last rule." Lindsay meekly opposed.
"No problem, I can change it. Just like I can also change the people who go to the final three." Heather threatened, making the girls shake their heads. "Good."
"Well, I hope that you are well-rested because we're going to have a challenge today!" Chris announced, leaving everyone surprised.
"What did he just said?" Leshawna asked, surprised.
"He can't be serious…" Gwen muttered placing her hand on her forehead.
"Hm… sorry, Chris, but isn't there a challenge every three days?" Lindsay asked, confused, lifting her hand.
"Yeah, yeah, but thanks to your 'determination' in the last challenge, now we are behind schedule." Chris said, making quotes with his fingers. "So we're going to have to do a challenge today and another after a two-day break!" Chris explained, showing no empathy for the tired campers, who groaned. "Now get ready; you have 10 minutes."
After everyone got out of the cafeteria, the campers now found themselves inside a glass court with some wooden benches on the sides, with Duncan being the last to get inside. But as soon as he entered, he immediately dropped onto the benches.
"Wake me up, and it'll be the last thing you do." he warned before sleeping, which scared Tyler.
"Well, it seems that we are down one person." Lincoln noted.
"We can thank Harold's snores for this," Geoff mocked the geek.
"It's called a medical condition, gosh!" Harold tried to defend himself.
After that little exchange, Chef appeared blowing a whistle and wearing a referee suit.
"All right. The challenge today is a match of dodgeball!" said Chris, holding up a red rubber ball.
As soon as he said it, everyone turned to look at Eva, who now looked pretty excited, smiling evilly while cracking her fingers, making the Gophers gulp in fear.
"The first rule of dodgeball is—"
"Do not talk about dodgeball?" Noah interrupted the host with a smirk, making Owen laugh.
"As I was saying, if a ball hits you," Chris continued, throwing a ball at Noah and hitting him in the stomach, making him groan in pain. "You're out."
Picking up the ball that rolled back to his feet, the host continued to explain the rules. "If you catch a ball, the thrower must leave, and the person who catches it can call another teammate to the court."
"Wow… Throwing balls, really an intellectual challenge…" Noah said sarcastically, still rubbing his stomach in pain.
"I know, right?" Lindsay said, making Noah and Owen trade glances because of the blonde's dizziness.
"Come on, cowboy, try to hit me," the host said, throwing a ball to Geoff, who caught it. "If you have a ball, you can reflect the enemy's throw, but if the thrower manages to drop the ball in your hands, you're out!"
"Wait, what am I supposed to do if the ball comes to me?" Lindsay asked, confused.
"You dodge!" Chris said, protecting himself from Geoff's throw but making it hit Lindsay head instead, causing her to fall to the ground.
"Ouch! You were supposed to dodge!" Chris said to the blonde.
"Yeah… I get it." Lindsay replied, getting up with a bump on her head.
"Okay, so let's start. Each team starts with 5 players per match; the first to score 5 points wins!" the host finished his explanation. "Ya'll have one minute to get ready."
"So, who will be on the benches?" Heather asked her team, trying to form their strategy.
"All right, I make the sacrifice," Noah said, not really thinking twice before ditching the game, making the team roll their eyes. "But if you want a tip, it's better to aim at Eva." he said before sitting down and starting to read a book, making everyone consider his words to get rid of Eva first.
While the Gophers were deciding their strategy, the Bass wasn't going so well.
"All right, guys, we need to think of a plan and—" Lincoln began with his hand on his chin, but then he was interrupted by Geoff.
"What's there to think? We have Eva," Geoff confidently said. "We just need to pass all the balls to her, right?"
"I like that plan," Eva agreed, even smiling a bit.
"Hmm… I don't know if—" Lincoln tried again with a raised finger before being interrupted once more.
"This is going to be easy with Eva." Sadie interrupted excitedly, placing all her trust in Eva.
"totally easy!" Katie happilly agreed, smiling.
Seeing that he wasn't going to reach his team, Lincoln groaned, pinching the bridge of his nose, but suddenly he felt a gentle hand on his shoulder, making him look up and see DJ smiling at him.
"Don't worry, Linc, everything is going to be fine. We have Eva after all." he said, trying to reassure the albino, which made him smile a little; after all, everything can turn out just fine, right?
—
After deciding the teams, all of them are on the court, with the Bass team being Eva, Geoff, DJ, Lincoln, and Tyler.
The Gopher team consists of Heather, Owen, Leshawna, Lindsay, and Izzy. Heather normally would taunt the other team, but with Eva there, she doesn't want to risk it.
"All ready? So let's dodge some balls!" Chris announced, making everyone run to get their balls.
After everyone grabbed their balls, the Bass team passed all of them to Eva, but before she could begin to throw, all the balls from the Gopher team came in her direction, catching her by surprise and not giving her time to dodge, causing her to get hit and be eliminated. This made all of the Basses gasp while the Gophers cheered happilly.
After Chef blew his whistle, Eva angrily got off the court. And before they could realize it, with Owen's surprisingly strong throws and catches and Izzy's impressive reflexes, the Gophers had eliminated three more: Tyler, Geoff, and DJ, leaving only Lincoln left.
"Looks like you are all alone now, dork." Heather mocked, hoping to scare him.
"Bring it." Lincoln confidently taunted back, which made Heather growl.
After throwing all their balls at him, all of the Gophers became impressed when he managed to avoid all of them, ducking, jumping, or stepping aside, impressing even the Bass team for not having expected such reflexes.
"Nice reflexes, Linc!" Izzy praised, enjoying seeing another person with good reflexes to dodge like her.
Unfortunately, he was good at dodging, but not so much at throwing, managing to hit only Leshawna and Lindsay before getting eliminated by Owen, who got his throw, eliminating the albino.
Blowing the whistle for the last time, Chef ended the first round, giving the point to the Gophers.
The Gophers now found themselves trying to form a plan for the next match.
"You think that Linc's reflexes will be a problem?" Trent asked.
"Don't call him by nicknames like you're friends." Heather scolded. "And you've seen it; he might be good at dodging, but not much at throwing."
"That's true, and he can't dodge forever." Gwen observed, having seen how tired the albino looked while avoiding the balls.
"Owen also did great; he is a good thrower and catcher." Cody praised the goofy ball, who blushed a little at the compliment.
"Aww, that's nothing." Owen said, embarrassed.
"And I must say, girl, I didn't expect you to be so athletic." Leshawna praised Izzy, having seen how fast and flexible she was while dodging some of the Bass throws.
"Well you need to be if you want to escape the government and agents that chase you non stop." Izzy replied, what made everyone pause a second.
"What?" Leshawna asked.
"Wow, Linc! That was amazing!" Geoff said, impressed by Lincoln's reflexes to dodge the balls.
"Thanks… I am kinda used to this." Lincoln replied, wiping his forehead, panting and tired from moving around for so long.
"Because of your sisters?" DJ asked, already accustomed to some of Lincoln's skills from living with 10 people.
"Yeah, kinda," he replied, smiling at the brick house. "Look, it's obvious that they're going to aim for Eva." He said, making the said girl growl in frustration. "And Owen is a stronger thrower than we can deal with, and Izzy is very agile and can avoid our throws. We're going to need a plan for Eva to stay in the court to win this." Lincoln explained, lending a fist on his open palm, trying to convince his team.
"I think you're right." Geoff said, scratching his hair. "So what do we do?"
"Simple, I call it: Operation Shield and Spear," Lincoln said, smirking confidently.
And so the next round started.
The bass formation this time was: DJ, Geoff, Lincoln, Katie, and Eva.
Meanwhile, the Gopher formation was: Owen, Lindsay, Trent, Leshawna, and Heather.
"Right, y'all ready? So let the game begin!" Chris announced once again.
After the host signaled, the Gophers rushed to do the same strategy as before, picking up all their balls but paused for a second after seeing the other team, who were not rushing for their balls but were in a line behind DJ.
"What are they doing?" Leshawna asked, confused by the other team's antics, which made even Noah momentarily look up from his book with curiosity.
"Who cares? Just throw!" Heather commanded, what displeased Leshawna but made her comply.
But as soon as they threw their balls, DJ started to speak out loud.
"Left!" he said, moving to the left, avoiding a ball with the whole team following behind. "Duck!" he said, going down, again with his team following his steps. "Right!" And again, all his teammates followed.
After that last throw, the Gopher team was out of ammo, allowing the Killer Bass team to scatter and gather the balls, passing all of them to Eva, who just grinned madly before throwing a super-human fastball at Owen, hitting his stomach and knocking the wind out of him, with Chef blowing his whistle.
"Run!" Leshawna yelled, running away, not wanting to get hit by a ball thrown by Eva.
But unfortunately, that wasn't enough. With Eva's monstrous strength, the ball came in at high speed, making it nearly impossible for anyone to dodge.
When the ball hit Leshawna, it struck her on the butt, making her fall to the ground.
"Ow~ Looks like she won't be sitting straight for a while." Chris mocked, enjoying the bloodbath.
The next to be eliminated was Heather, who got hit on her arm. Next was Trent, who received a ball into his stomach.
The last eliminated was Lindsay, who got hit on her head, again, with Tyler rushing to her side.
"Lindsay! You okay?" Tyler asked, concerned, helping the blonde to get up.
"Um… Tyler?" Lindsay asked, correctly using the jock's name, still dizzy from the hit. "Oh my gosh, my face. How's my face?"
"It's really… not that bad," Tyler said, trying to spare the blonde's feelings, because her face actually looked pretty bad. "You still look great."
"Really?" Lindsay asked hopefully, despite her all bruised face.
"Yeah! Really." The jock tried to reassure her.
But suddenly, Chef interrupted the moment by blowing his whistle loudly.
"The match is over! So get off the court!" the cook yelled, wanting to get those two back in the game. But the pair had a different idea instead.
"You wanna go for a walk?" Tyler asked the blonde, wanting to spend some time with her.
'Heather said not to date him…' the blonde thought, closing her eyes and trying to remind herself. 'So I have to say no; I have to say no.' But when she opened her eyes again, she could only see Tyler's concerned and hopeful face. Darting her eyes behind him, she could see Lincoln, who smiled and gave a thumbs up to them. 'But a walk wouldn't hurt, would it?'
"Okay!" Lindsay replied to the jock, starting to walk by his side.
"Hey! Hey, get back here!" Heather yelled at the pair when they passed by her. "You are so close to being out of the alliance!" The queen bee threatened, but Lindsay only passed by her, not seeming to have heard her.
"Take care, you two," Lincoln advised the pair when they passed by him, with Geoff and DJ, also giving a thumbs up, making the jock smile and nod.
After that, Tyler and Lindsay left the court as Chef blew the whistle, officially signaling the end of the round, with the score being 1-1.

"I was considered one of the best dodgeball players in middle school," Lincoln said, smiling confidently. "And I can say that it wasn't for my physics, hehe. But with a good plan and… reliable friends… everything is possible," he finished, but suddenly looked sadder.

—
The next two rounds were the same, the Bass using the Shield and Spear strategy. Not even Izzy could avoid Eva's throws for long, and even if the Gophers eliminated DJ, there were three other people before Eva, making it almost impossible to eliminate her. This caused the score to quickly change to 3-1 in favor of the Bass.
"The Bass are now ahead by 3 points to 1, only 2 points away from victory," Chris narrated at the end of the fourth game. "Will the Gophers catch up? Or will this be an easy victory for the Bass?"
"What happened?!" Heather asked angrily, addressing her team, still numb from Eva's throws. "We were doing well in the first round, so why the sudden change?" The queen bee complained. "And where is Lindsay?! Grrr!" Having had enough of the blonde's absence, Heather decided to search for her.
"Clearly, you just lack motivation," Noah said sarcastically, still reading his book.
"Yeah?! How about I show my motivation to you?!" Leshawna threatened the bookworm, stomping her way to him, not in the best mood for the bookworm's sarcasm while he did nothing but read his book. The commotion made Noah look up, seeing Trent and Owen holding Leshawna and all the team frowning down at him, except Owen, of course.
*static*
"I can see that my team is getting a little hot-headed with me, and if we lose this, I can be voted off," Noah said with crossed arms in the confessional. "So I'm going to have to do what I hate the most: play sports." The boy muttered. "At least as a coach."
*static*
Seeing that if they lose, he can be voted off, Noah put his book aside, beginning to think of a strategy to show his team that he can be useful.
"Well, there's another way to eliminate her…" Noah said, with a finger on his chin.
"How?" Gwen asked curiously.
"You just need to grab her throw." he revealed, simply shrugging his shoulders.
"Get hit on purpose by that cannonball?!" Leshawna asked incredulously. "Who's crazy enough to—" she began, only to be interrupted by Izzy.
"Ow! Ow! Me! Me! I'll do this!" Izzy said excitedly. The truth was that Izzy was the best player on the Gopher side, excelling at dodging and throwing. She and Owen were the ones to eliminate DJ and some others before getting eliminated by Eva inhuman throws, but volunteering to be hit directly by Eva was…
"Uh… you sure, Izzy?" Trent asked, concerned for his teammate's safety.
"Of course, I always wanted to catch a cannonball in mid-air, hahaha," Izzy replied excitedly, already running to the court, making everyone question her sanity.
Before the next match started, the Killer Bass saw Tyler walk back to the court, looking pretty hurt.
"Woah, dude, what happened to you?" Geoff asked the bruised athlete.
"I thought you were with Lindsay," Lincoln said.
"Yeah, I was, but Heather showed up and dropped a boat on my head," Tyler said, rubbing his head.
"And you're still awake?" Lincoln asked, surprised. "Wow, you're pretty resilient."
—
So started the next match. The teams this time were: DJ, Katie, Bridgette, Geoff, and Eva for the Bass, and Izzy, Owen, Trent, Cody, and Gwen for the Gophers.
The game was about the same, with the Gophers throwing their ball and the Bass dodging and gathering them, but when Eva threw her ball at Cody, Izzy suddenly jumped to protect him, causing her and Cody to hit the glass wall. But Instead of just getting hit, Izzy also grabbed the ball, eliminating Eva, and surprising the Basses.
"Yes!" Heather cheered from the Gophers bench.
Soon, the game returned to the Gophers' favor. With Eva out and Owen's strength, all the Bass became disorganized and were slowly eliminated, managing to eliminate only Trent, who got hit by Katie's throw, and Cody, who jumped to protect Gwen and got hit in the crotch.
The next match was the same, with Izzy getting in the way of Eva's throw. Even though she was visibly hurt, she still managed to catch the ball, making the Gophers tie with 3-3.
Heather was a little nervous; they were tied with the Killer Bass, but Izzy seemed to be at her limit, with a pained expression and rubbing her stomach. It seemed that catching two direct throws from Eva had worn her out more than the crazy one expected.
At that moment, the whole team was deciding on their next strategy; even Noah was helping after being called out, providing some plans. However, she knew that the real problem was with the opposing team.
Looking in the direction of the other team, she saw the albino also in a team meeting, seated at the top of the benches. She knew that to have a better chance of winning, she needed him out. So, looking around, she saw Leshawna with one of the rubber balls, which gave her an idea. Getting into position, she began to act.
"Maybe we'd have a better chance to win if Leshawna had more muscles instead of a butt." Heather suddenly taunted her teammate, catching the girl's and the team's attention.
"What did you just say?" Leshawna angrily asked.
"Oh, nothing," Heather said, looking at her nails. "Just that your butt is so big that it has its own orbit, attracting all the balls to you." she said, crossing her arms and smirking.
"Listen here, you daddy's girl, I don't know what your problem is, but you better take back what you just said!" Leshawna demanded, gripping the ball with more force out of anger.
"Or what? Thunder thighs?" That was the last straw for Leshawna, who threw the ball she was holding with all her strength. But Heather simply stepped aside, making the ball simply fly past her.
"Okay, that's bad; they obviously discovered our strategy and found a way to counter it." Lincoln said, thinking about what to do now.
"You have another plan?" Bridgette asked hopefully.
"Actually… yeah, I have one…" he began to speak. "And it is—" But before he could finish his sentence, he felt a strong hit on his head, and being on top of the benches, he began to fall backwards, hitting his head on the ground.
"LINCOLN!" he could hear everyone call before everything faded to black.
Now we found ourselves at the infirmary, where Chef put Lincoln in one of the beds, with Bridgette at the cooker side, who offered to watch the albino for the time being.
"Is he going to be fine?" Bridgette asked Chef, concerned.
"Yeah, he only has a small concussion; it's nothing serious." Chef said, giving a quick look at Lincoln. "Now I have to get back; take care of him." That was all Chef said before leaving the tent.
Bridgette sighed, sitting in a chair close to Lincoln's bed. Hopping that the boy be fine
But suddenly, the boy stirred, opening his eyes a little.
"Lincoln! Are you okay?" Bridgette asked, but the boy only squinted his eyes at her.
"Sam? Is it you?" the boy asked, still dizzy.
"Wha—?"
"Is Lina already sleeping?" he asked again, looking really confused, mistaking the surfer for someone else.
Not knowing what else to do, Bridgette just decided to go along. "Uuuhh… yeah, she is. Don't worry."
"So, what are you waiting for?" Lincoln asked, moving aside and opening a space, with the surfer already getting what he was referring to.
"Uhh… Lincoln, I don't know if—" But before she could finish, Lincoln grabbed her by the wrists, pulling Bridgette to lay with him, hugging her against his chest.
"Lincoln! You can't—" Bridgette tried to protest, her face all red.
"I missed you," Lincoln whispered, closing his eyes and going back to sleep.
Bridgette could push him away and escape from this situation. But she saw a lonely tear drop from the boy's eyes, along with his peacefully sleeping face, as if he hadn't had a really decent night of sleep recently, and the body heat he radiated along with the soft heart beats was very comfortable. These factors, along with the fact that Bridgette also hadn't gotten a good night of sleep because of Harold, made her very sleepy.
'A nap wouldn't be that bad, would it?'
Whoever this Sam girl is, she seems really important to him.
It has already been a few days since Lincoln had a really good night of sleep, but now, for some reason, he feels totally charged. It was probably because of the dream he had instead of the usual nightmares and memories since he got to the camp.
When the albino finally opened his eyes, his sight took some time to adjust to the brightness. But when he finally did, he saw a white tent ceiling and noticed he was lying in a bed. He also noticed that there was something else on his bed.
When he looked to his side, he saw the blonde hair and immediately thought about Sam. But when he looked at the girl's face...
"AAAAHHHHHH!" Lincoln screamed, scared, falling from the bed. The scream also awakened the girl.
"WHAT? WHERE IS THE FIRE?" Bridgette asked, looking around, her hair messy.
"BRIDGETTE! WHERE AM I? WHY WERE WE SLEEPING TOGETHER?" Lincoln desperately asked, breathing heavily, his face as pale as paper.
"Okay, calm down!" Bridgette said to the two of them, her heart also beating furiously from nervousness and embarrassment. "We are in the infirmary," she tried to explain calmly.
"Infirmary?" Lincoln asked, trying to control his breath, petting his body, confirming that he was with his clothes on.
"Yeah, Chef brought you here after you fainted." Bridgette explained.
"You're welcom.," said an indifferent, raspy voice. Looking to the source, Lincoln saw Chef, who was just watching the situation unfold.
"Chef! You were here this whole time?" Lincoln asked nervously.
"You mean since you were still sleeping? Yes, I was." the chef replied, smiling at the teenagers' nervousness.
"Ggrrr." Lincoln groaned. "How am I gonna explain this to Sam?"
Hearing that name again made Bridgette curious about who exactly "Sam" was.
"That Sam, is your girlfriend?" the surfer nervously asked, which made Lincoln remember that he wasn't alone, with Chef also looking at him curiously.
"Yeah… she is." Lincoln replied. "And now I slept with another girl on international TV!" The boy groaned. "Good job, Loud!" he said before slapping himself on the face.
"Hey! Calm down!" Bridgette said, holding him by the shoulders. "I can guarantee you that nothing happened. We just cuddled for a while, like siblings or very good friends." She tried to reassure him. "And we just ended like that because you were confused and mistook me for her. It could happen to anyone."
Lincoln wanted to believe these words; he really did, but he couldn't help but think of the worst outcomes possible. But then he remembered what he and Sam promised so many years ago: No jumping to conclusions and always talk and be truthful with each other. And if what Bridgette say is true, than maybe he could still talk to the former rocker.
So, gulping his insecurities, Lincoln asked, "…so what happened after I fainted?" He asked, hoping to change the subject.
"The game continued normally, but your team ended up winning with Duncan's help." the cook revealed, shrugging his shoulders.
"Really? The game just continued like that?" the Loud boy asked, surprised.
"Chris said that it wasn't against the rules, so he just let it go on." Chef said indifferently.
"Of course he did," the albino muttered, with a hand on his face, managing to even see the host's amused and evil grin.
Now both Bridgette and Lincoln walked silently side by side, returning to their cabins. But the air felt kinda tense between them.
"Look." Lincoln suddenly started catching the surfer's attention. "What happened… I am sorry. I shouldn't have pulled you to lay with me." he said, looking at the ground and feeling guilty about it.
"No, no! It's all right! Really! I mean, you suffered a concussion and all." she tried to reassure him. But he only kept looking down. "She must be really important to you." Bridgette said, referring to Sam.
"Yeah, she is," the albino said, smiling softly. "We have been through a lot of things. She is my rock and one of the most important people in my life, i couldn't take it if I lose her."
"I bet that she must feel the same." Bridgette said, stopping in her tracks, making Lincoln stop too and look at her. "Look, Lincoln, what happened was an accident, one that will never happen again." The surfer said, nervously fidgeting with her fingers. "And I would hate to lose a friend because of it. So can we just forget it?"
Lincoln was speechless; he had spent so much time taking care of Lina, his sisters, and Sam that he didn't have time to hang out and make friends, sure, he get along with some students from his school, but no one that he would really call a friend. So, hearing someone call him like that again, after so long, made his eyes tear up a little.
"Yeah. Sure," he said, hoping that his voice hadn't cracked. "I mean, I can take sleep on the couch if it means not losing a good friend." He joked a little, which made Bridgette giggle.
"Hahaha. Don't worry, if it comes to this, I will help you argue with her." the surfer replied, going back to walk with Lincoln.
"You are so reliable; I am flattered." the albino mocked.
"You know, you aren't even my type," the surfer joked, making the boy chuckle.
"Hehe, oh yeah? What's your type then?" the albino asked.
And so they continued their walk, engaging in some small talk. Lincoln was still concerned about what Sam, Lina, and his sisters would think about that situation, but until then, he would think of something and hope that everything will be okay. And if Bridgette was serious, maybe he could use her help a little bit.
*static*
"Sam, if you are watching this, I just wanted to say that I am sorry," Lincoln apologized in the confessional. "What I did was wrong, dizzy or not. So I hope that you can forgive me."
*static*
When approaching the cabins, Lincoln and Bridgette hear a caw, and looking up, they see a seagull flying toward them.
"Hey, buddy," Lincoln greeted as the bird landed on his arm, but it looked kind of dirty and torn up. "Oh, my! What happened to you?" Lincoln asked, a little concerned about the bird's condition.
"Now that I think about it, I haven't seen him all day," Bridgette observed, also concerned for the bird health.
"Well, he normally leaves to do his own thing too." Lincoln said. "Maybe he got into a fight with something." He wondered, with the bird giving a caw as answer.
Now all the Gophers found themselves once again at the campfire ceremony, some more numb than others.
"Ah~ the campfire ceremony," Chris sighs calmly. "You are now officially the first team to have a defeat streak. How do you feel about it?" Chris mocked, receiving only glares from the team. "Well, you know how it is: if I call your name, you're safe, so you can come and get your marshmallow. If you don't receive a marshmallow, you must walk through the Docks of Shame, where you're going to ride the losers' boats to never come back!" Chris explained the rules once again.
"Now the people who are safe are: Owen, Gwen, Leshawna, Lindsay, Trent, Beth, Izzy, and Noah," Chris called, with all of them getting up to get their treat. "Now there's only one marshmallow left," he said to Heather and Cody, making the geek nervous, but the queen bee didn't seem worried that they would vote her off.
"Cody, you haven't been of much help, being possibly the weakest member of the team and almost dead weight," the host said.
"Hey!" Cody complained.
"Heather, you taunted a teammate and made her throw a ball into the enemy team out of the match. While that wasn't against the rules, it was very mean," Chris said, making Heather roll her eyes.
"And the last marshmallow goes to…" Chris built the suspense.
"Heather," the host revealed, making the queen bee confidently get up to get her treat.
"Cody, the losers' boat awaits," the host said, making the geek sigh sadly and get up.
While Cody walked to the docks, suddenly all his now former teammates got on his way.
"Hey, dude, I just wanted to say that I am sorry it turned out like this," Trent said in an apologetic tone.
"It's nothing personal; it's just that we didn't have anyone to vote off." Noah said with crossed arms, not showing to really care about the results.
"Sorry about the short stuff." Leshawna said, also feeling a little bad for the geek.
"It's all right; I understand." He said sadly. "But could I at least have your number? Isn't that like a consolation prize?" Cody flirted for the last time with Gwen, making everyone roll their eyes. But surprisingly, Gwen simply rubbed his hair.
"Sorry, shorty, but that won't happen." she said, even giving a very small smile, which made Cody sigh sadly. "But thanks for take a hit for me."
Then suddenly, Cody was lifted from the ground, receiving a rib-crushing hug from Owen.
"I'm gonna miss you so much!" Owen loudly cried.
"Yeah… right." Cody said in pain between breaths.
"Sorry to interrupt, but we kinda have limited time. Sooo…," Chris interrupted the tender moment, pointing to his watch. This made Owen release Cody, who walked to the Docks of Shame, this time feeling a little better with his teammates' words.
When Cody's boat disappeared on the horizon, the host appeared to finish the episode.
"Now there are 19 campers left. The Bass are leading with a streak of 2 victories. Will they continue like that? Who is going to be sent home? Find out right here! In TOTAL! DRAMA! ISLAND!"
