Chapter Text

U.A. was buzzing.
Literally.
Everywhere Denki went, people were whispering, giggling, or pretending not to stare at him. His phone had twenty-seven missed messages, fourteen new memes in the group chat titled “Class 1-gAy”, and one blurry video circulating online titled:
“STUDENT DECKS THE NUMBER ONE HERO???”
Denki sighed dramatically, slumping over his desk.
“Okay, who spilled?”
Mina shot him a guilty look. “...Define spilled.”
“Mina.”
She grinned. “In my defense, it was Hawks’ idea! He said it was ‘important for representation.’”
Kirishima snorted from behind her. “Bro, you punched Endeavor. That’s, like, legendary. You’re a symbol of rebellion now.”
“Yeah, great,” Denki muttered. “Can this symbol of rebellion take a nap now?”
Across the room, Bakugo barked out a laugh. “You actually had the balls to hit that walking flamethrower. I’m impressed, dunce-face.”
“Thanks… I think?”
Before Denki could respond, Todoroki walked in, as calm and cool as ever, sipping from a cup of green tea. The room quieted immediately.
He set his bag down, turned to Denki, and simply said, “My father’s PR team is in chaos. They don’t know how to spin ‘teenage trans boy punches Endeavor in the face.’”
Denki blinked. “And that’s… bad?”
Todoroki stared at him for a beat, then smiled—soft, real. “No. It’s kind of perfect.”
The room erupted into laughter.
Even Bakugo was smirking. “Guess you did what we all wanted to do.”
Before Denki could reply, Aizawa entered the classroom, scarf trailing behind him, expression unreadable as always.
Everyone went dead silent.
He dropped a folder on his desk. “Good morning, problem children. Before we start class, a few announcements.” He flipped a page. “One: No, Kaminari is not being expelled. Two: No, the faculty does not condone punching pro heroes, no matter how justified. And three—”
He paused, glancing at Denki. For the briefest moment, something like pride flickered in his tired eyes.
“—Good work standing up for yourself.”
The class collectively gasped.
Denki froze. “Wait, did you just—did Aizawa-sensei just—”
“Don’t push it,” Aizawa said, deadpan. “Training starts in ten minutes.”
As everyone scrambled for their gear, Shinsou lingered at Denki’s side, bumping his shoulder.
“See?” he murmured. “Told you it was worth it.”
Denki grinned up at him, cheeks flushed. “Yeah, yeah. You were right.”
“Obviously.”
They fell into step together as the class filed toward Ground Gamma. Mina was already whispering to Jirou about printing “Denki vs. Endeavor 2025” t-shirts. Bakugo and Kirishima were arguing about whether Denki’s punch had broken the hero’s jaw.
And somewhere outside, Todoroki was walking a little lighter than usual.
Because for the first time, someone else had stood up to his father—and this time, it wasn’t about fire or power or legacy.
It was about respect.
Denki glanced back at the campus buildings bathed in morning light and couldn’t help but smile.
He’d started the week as just another student.
Now?
Now he was Denki Kaminari: hero-in-training, proud trans boy, and the guy who decked the Number One Hero for being an asshole.
Not a bad legacy, honestly.
