   Summary

   Alexander McCrae has never found a place he can truly call home, always moving from one place to another. After landing himself a job as a quartermaster aboard the surveyor Accord spacecraft the Icebreaker, he traveled the stars in hopes of one day finding somewhere better to settle down. A new mission has them investigating a planet known as Elispura... a paradise of purple grasslands.

   Silex Luctoria, Eight Bloom, is an Affini known for her ability as a warden. She has helped many, many new arrivals to the Affini Compact adjust to life and find fulfilling, happy lives. After a distress signal is received by the Affini vessel Hololeion, she and others are sent to rescue the sophonts involved. Now, with a new ward at her side, she must help him adjust to his new life and overcome past struggles, in hopes of them gaining their independence within the Compact.
