   Summary

   Following their tumultuous first year of acquaintance (for context please read book 1: "Albus and Emrys"), Albus and Merlin were again in the relatively quiet Hogwarts castle with the summer staff. Albus did not spend as many days in the lab as he had the previous summer, for several reasons, chief amongst them being Merlin. The elder sorcerer would sometimes take him away from his lab for a break, or for no particular reason. But they had also decided they would hunt dangerous things in the school, a sort of planned daring and recklessness that the two went for with a will. It was characteristic of the sort of men they were that the difference between planned and spontaneous recklessness was slight and mostly arbitrary.
