Work Text:
Buck realized while he was living with Eddie that he was deeply in love with him, which is why he had to get out of there and stay at Maddie’s for the last three months before he got his house. While living with Eddie, he noticed a lot about him— all of his quirks.
He would get annoyed with Buck when he’d use dish soap to wash his hands even though Eddie would specifically tell him to stop doing that because they are not the same. He also didn’t like it when Buck would leave the dish sponge on top of his little frog holder instead of inside of it.
For some reason, this was really doing it for Buck— seeing Eddie get riled up, how pink his cheeks would get, and how deep his voice would get. If Buck wasn’t careful, he’ll cross a line he shouldn’t.
He just can’t help it though and goes on a mission to ragebait Eddie to get a reaction out of him— to see how he could get under his skin.
Buck starts with putting the toilet paper roll on the opposite way that he knows Eddie likes it, which is the proper way where the piece hanging is coming from on top. He puts it from underneath at the station and after Eddie uses the washroom, he goes in to see that Eddie put it back the right way so he flips it again. Later on, Eddie comes out of the washroom, Buck’s in the locker room so he asks, “Who keeps fucking with the toilet paper? I’ve had to fix it twice now.”
Buck hums. “That’s so weird,” he says nonchalantly, “I have no idea.”
After Eddie leaves, Buck does it again and the next time Eddie uses the washroom, he gets even more annoyed. Finding Buck upstairs, he vents, “What sicko keeps doing this? I’ve changed it thrice now! This has to be a sick joke.”
Buck tries hard not to laugh but God, Eddie’s just so cute when he’s riled up.
*
The next time he decides to ragebait Eddie happens because Eddie himself gives him the idea. Hen brings up a story that Taylor Kelly reported on and Eddie got so annoyed, talking shit about Taylor, that Buck knew what he could do to rile him up next.
Eddie’s downstairs at the station so he turns the TV on and turns it to the news channel he knows Taylor works for. It’s not long before Eddie comes upstairs and sees what Buck is watching.
He groans, “Ugh— why is Taylor Kelly on the screen?”
Buck turns his head to look at Eddie briefly to say, “Uh— cause I’m watching it,” before looking back at the TV.
He can hear Eddie make his way towards him, standing right above him, eyes on the TV with a grimace on his face— not hiding his disdain over Buck’s ex-girlfriend.
Interesting.
“Why would you subject yourself to this? You seeing her again or something?” he asks so casually that it doesn’t feel casual at all.
Buck looks up to see Eddie looking at him. He smirks wanting to see how pink Eddie’s cheeks will get. “No,” Buck says simply, seeing the evident relief on Eddie’s face. “She does look hot though,” he adds, seeing how frustrated Eddie looks within seconds.
“She’s whatever,” he says, waving him off before walking away.
Buck laughs softly but can’t help but think that Eddie seemed jealous of the idea of Buck getting back together with her.

Buck saw a TikTok one night while he was scrolling of a video that said POV: asking my husband ragebait questions. The woman asked her husband what sports he’d play if he was athletic, and her husband instantly reacted accordingly, telling her he is athletic and did play sports, she kept pushing his buttons. Buck knew he had to try that with Eddie and ignore the part that this was because of a woman asking her husband this question.
The next day when he’s at Eddie’s watching a movie with him and Chris about basketball, Buck kicks at Eddie’s leg from where he’s sitting in the arm chair. When he has his attention he says, “Hey, what sport would you play if you were athletic?”
Eddie scrunches his eyebrows, confused. “I am athletic, what do you mean?”
“No like—“ Buck has to stop himself from laughing over Eddie reacting accordingly. “If you were athletic, what sport would you play?”
Eddie sits up a bit and asks, “I do MMA, I’m athletic— why do you keep saying that?”
Chris laughs softly which triggers Buck. “No like a real sport— so if you were athletic—“ he says before Eddie cuts him off with a loud groan as he gets up.
“I’m athletic and MMA is a real sport,” Eddie says, riled up just as Buck wanted to see.
Buck can’t help but start laughing, especially seeing Chris laugh too.
“You’re the worst,” Eddie says, pointing at him teasingly, making his way to the kitchen.

Buck is on shift a couple days later with Eddie and tells him that he just started getting into astrology, hoping to get him riled up.
It doesn’t work.
Eddie’s actually interested to hear what Buck has learned about astrology. He tells him that he read up on what his sign is like and all the signs of those he knows like Eddie, Chris, Maddie, and about the compatibility between signs. Eddie asks what he’s learned about their signs compatibility’s, both friendship and relationship. Buck can’t help but blush when he tells him what he actually does know about Cancer and Virgo compatibility. Luckily he is somewhat into astrology— knowing what pertains to his sign and those he loves.
Later, he tries to ragebait him again, and this time be successful. He’s sitting upstairs in the lounge with him on opposite couches. Eddie’s been reading a book while Buck scrolls on his phone.
Looking over at Eddie he says, “Eddie, do you ever wish you were taller?”
Eddie’s eyes looked up at him at the sound of his name but his face morphs into deep confusion when he hears the question. “Taller? Buck, I’m six foot,” he says, confused and slightly offended— bingo.
“No, but like—“ Buck says, suppressing a smile. “Do you ever wish you were actually six feet tall ‘cause when you’re not in your work boots…” he trails off, trying not to burst out laughing at the face Eddie makes.
“What?!” he asks, outraged, sitting up straight in his seat. “What does that mean?? I am six feet tall.”
“No, like a real six feet— you’re more like 5’10,” Buck pushes that much further.
“Buck, I’m like two inches shorter than you, I’m six feet,” Eddie says, his cheeks pink— he’s definitely riled up.
“No but—”
“Dios mio,” Eddie says as he gets up, walking away. Buck can’t help but laugh— success.
A few hours later, when they’re all winding down for the night— they’re on a twenty-four hour shift— Buck’s upstairs again, lounging on the couch just scrolling TikTok on his phone. He’s alone upstairs so he has his volume on kind of loudly.
He can see Eddie making his way up so Buck gets an idea. He increases the volume a bit as Eddie comes to sit next to him on the couch even though there’s plenty of other spots to sit— not that Buck is complaining. He loves the feeling of Eddie’s thigh pressing against his from sitting so closely.
Eddie looks at his phone for a bit and he thinks that maybe he’ll ask Buck to lower his volume, seeing how annoying it is when you’re on your phone and someone else is listening to their phone way too loudly.
He doesn’t do that though, instead he puts his phone down and leans in closer to Buck. He says, “Whatcha watching?” as he looks over his shoulder to look at what Buck’s watching, his body so close to his, he can even feel his breath hot and soft on his neck.
God— that feels too good.
Buck makes his phone more visible for Eddie to see but Eddie doesn’t move, he stays close to Buck’s side, both of them lounging on the couch, pressed together watching TikToks.
Buck meant to ragebait Eddie to get him all riled up again but instead he got the cute and cuddly version of Eddie— this might just be better, especially when he looks this adorable and feels this good pressed against him.
Buck does find it quite interesting how certain things he does purposefully to annoy Eddie don’t. Could that mean— no, no, there’s no way.
*
Over the next week, Buck finds a new way to ragebait Eddie in a way he knows will get him very riled up. He begins with asking Hildy things out loud instead of just Googling them because he knows that anytime Hildy is mentioned, Eddie starts a whole rant about how harmful technology is becoming.
They’re watching a basketball game that Buck’s very uninterested in and sees a hot guy so he asks Eddie who that is. “That’s Gabe Vincent,” Eddie tells him without looking at him.
Buck has his phone on the coffee table so he says, “Hey, Hildy. Is Gabe Vincent single?”
Hildy responds saying that there’s no reports on who he is dating.
“Seriously?” Eddie asks, annoyed. “You couldn’t just Google that?”
“This was easier,” he shrugs.
“You think you have a shot with Gabe Vincent?” he then asks, eyeing him carefully.
Buck smirks. “Yeah, why not? You saying I’m not hot enough to get him?” he teases.
Eddie blushes, making Buck file that away for later. “Pretty sure he’s straight,” Eddie says instead, looking back at the TV.
“Hasn’t stopped me before,” Buck teases, and he sees the look on Eddie’s face like that is what just ragebaited him.
The game ends so they put on a movie, laying back on the couch, getting comfortable. Buck can feel Eddie’s leg pressed against his— he so badly wants to reach out to put his hand on his thigh.
He shakes himself out of it and goes back to ragebaiting— that should be safer.
“Hey Hildy,” he says, cutting off Eddie who was asking him something but he didn’t even realize he was speaking. “What year did Dead man on campus come out?” he asks. He chose this movie because they’ve been on a kick of watching old 90s and early 2000s movies that they both have never seen before, and this was next on the list.
Hildy replies, “Dead man on campus came out in 1998.”
“Buck,” Eddie says, annoyed.
“It’s fine, Eds— there’s nothing wrong with it. You know, I was even thinking of buying a smart speaker for my new place,” he tells him, trying hard not to smile too big to give it away.
“No, no, don’t get that,” Eddie starts. “These things listen in on everything! All for the Government to control us eventually…”
Buck tries hard not to laugh as Eddie goes into one of his rants about technology and how harmful AI is. Buck smiles at him fondly— God, he loves this man so much, he’s so cute when he’s all riled up.

Buck is on another twenty-four hour shift with Eddie and finds a new idea on what to do to ragebait him. He decides to only call him Edmundo for the entire shift.
The first time he calls him that is when they’re on a call and Buck says, “Edmundo, I need your help over here.”
Eddie looks at him confused but ignores it.
They get back to the station and it’s Buck’s turn to clean the truck but he calls out, “Hey, Edmundo, wanna give me a hand?”
“This is the second time you call me that today,” Eddie says, annoyed, as he walks over to Buck.
“What?” Buck asks as innocently as he can. “That’s just your name.”
Eddie squints at him, eyeing him carefully. “Alright, Evan,” he says, nodding his head and walking away.
Buck chuckles. “So I guess you’re not helping me, Edmundo,” he calls out and sees just how red Eddie’s getting. Buck laughs more, smiling at him fondly.
*
Eddie didn’t clock it at first that Buck was purposefully ragebaiting him until he spent the majority of their twenty-four hour shift calling him by his name that he hates.
Realizing Buck is trying to ragebait him by doing that has him rethinking about all the moments they’ve shared over the past couple weeks.
He does remember getting quite heated when Buck kept asking Hildy for things that he could just Google. He also asked him ridiculous questions like if he wished he was tall or what sport he’d play if he was athletic. Wait— the toilet paper!
Oh my God— that little menace.
Eddie’s sitting upstairs, and Hen is chatting to Ravi about something, meanwhile Buck and Chimney are working out downstairs. Sitting here, he’s had some time to really think about it and come to this realization.
Why in the hell would Buck ragebait him like that on purpose?
The more he sits and stews, the more upset he’s getting so he marches his ass downstairs to see Buck no longer in the gym. He doesn’t spot him in the locker room so he must be going for a shower.
He walks into the shower room to see Buck still dressed in his gym attire— a black tank top and some loose navy blue shorts.
“Uh— hey, Eddie,” Buck says when he spots him. “What’s up?” he asks confused.
“Why have you been ragebaiting me on purpose for weeks?” he asks, not beating around the bush.
Buck looks like a deer caught in headlights with how unexpected this seems to be for him. He tries to recover by saying, “Ragebaiting you? What— why would I do that?”
Eddie laughs softly. “See, I was wondering the exact same thing. Why would Buck choose to ragebait me on purpose?” he asks, stepping closer to him.
Buck swallows hard, he can see his Adams Apple bob up and down in his throat.
Buck’s face softens and he says quickly, “I’m sorry, Eddie. It happened by accident then seeing your reaction— I just— I wanted to see if I can do it again.”
“My reaction?” he asks, confused.
Buck blushes a deep red, more than the slight pink he had from the exercise he just did. “You’re really cute when you’re riled up,” Buck tells him, his smile so soft and sweet.
His brain feels like it short circuits because what do you mean Buck thinks he’s cute when he’s riled up????
Is Buck— does he— no, no, no, no.
Eddie’s shaking his head softly until he realizes, his face all scrunched up in confusion. “I’m cute?” he finds himself asking.
Buck laughs softly, that fond little smile on his face that really drove home just how in love with Buck he is.
“I’m sorry for pushing your buttons so much just cause I wanted to see how you’d react,” Buck tells him sincerely, Eddie melts a bit. “But it was quite interesting,” he adds, taking a step closer to Buck. He’s hyper aware of how close they are now. “Some things I did didn’t rile you up the way I thought they would,” he says, looking him up and down.
Fuck.
“Li—like what?” Eddie asks, stuttering slightly over his words, getting hot and bothered.
“I told you I got into astrology, and you wanted to know more. You asked about what our signs would be like together— as a couple. That I found really interesting,” he says, looking at him. “Another was when I was watching videos so annoyingly loud but you just got closer and watched with me,” Buck tells him, smiling softly to himself like he’s remembering something.
“What is it?” Eddie finds himself asking, needing to know what he’s thinking.
Buck looks at him through his lashes, a look Eddie has never seen before and—
“Just remembering the way it felt having you pressed up against me like that,” Buck says in a deep, sultry voice.
Oh.
“You liked that?” Eddie asks softly. Remembering the day he’s talking about and how good it felt to be curled up next to him like that.
Buck cocks his eyebrow with a smirk on his face, he asks, “Are you telling me that was on purpose?”
Eddie smiles shyly. “Not for any sort of reaction but just to see what it would be like,” he tells him.
“To see what it would be like?” Buck asks, smiling at him softly, teasing him.
Eddie does something that he never thought he’d actually do— be brave.
He takes that last step closer to Buck that removes any space between them. He looks up into Buck’s eyes, his hand coming up to cradle Buck’s face— Buck leans into the touch. Eddie leans in but slowly touches his lips to Buck’s— testing it out before he takes that final leap over the friendship line. He kisses him harder, putting everything he’s been repressing, everything he’s been wanting and needing into it.
Buck moans into the kiss, his hands grabbing onto Eddie’s waist, holding him close. Eddie wraps his arms around Buck’s neck, pulling him into him.
Buck smiles into the kiss, pulling back just enough to say, “I’m so in love with you,” looking into his big, brown eyes.
“I’ve never loved anyone as much as I love my son and you. You mean everything to me, Buck,” Eddie says softly, looking into his eyes, his left hand resting on Buck’s cheek— making sure he knows how serious he is.
Buck’s eyes are a bit glassy with tears as he leans in to kiss him again. Eddie puts everything into the kiss, slipping his tongue into his mouth. He walks Buck back into the wall gently, as he presses him up against it.
Buck pushes his thigh harder into Eddie from where it’s found itself between his legs. He must be able to feel his hard length press into his thigh. Buck moans softly into the kiss, his hands roaming over his body.
The next moment, they can hear someone coming so they quickly detach themselves to try to act normal as Chimney walks in.
“Jesus,” he says, shocked to see them. “I thought you’d be done showering by now.”
“We’ve just been talking,” Eddie says as Buck says, “Yeah didn’t get a chance to yet.”
“Okay…” Chim says, walking over to a shower.
Eddie quickly smiles at Buck before getting the fuck out of there.
He sees that Hen’s already gone into one of the bedrooms so Eddie goes into the other room that’s got one double bed in it. He doesn’t usually opt for this room but he’s hoping maybe Buck will come join him and they can have some privacy.
Eddie
Meet me in the solo room
He doesn’t get a response for a few minutes while Buck is showering. All he sends is a heart emoji on Eddie’s text.
His door creaks open and he can see Buck come into the room, Buck smiling at him when they make eye contact. He then closes the door behind him and makes his way over to the bed.
Eddie’s in bed wearing just his boxer briefs and his LAFD t-shirt. His work pants are right by the bed in case he needs to get ready quickly for a call. From what he could see Buck was dressed similarly with his work pants on and an LAFD t-shirt. He can hear Buck taking his pants off before he climbs into the bed next to him.
“Hi,” Buck says shyly, finding Eddie’s hand in the bed. It’s not very dark in the room as they need to still be able to get up if a call comes in so he can see Buck slightly.
He looks so cute with his wet curls and fond smile. “Hi,” he says back softly, pulling him closer to him.
Buck takes Eddie into his arms, cuddling him close to his body. Eddie wraps his arm around him as his other hand reaches to slide up Buck’s chin to his neck, pulling his face to his, kissing him slowly and sensually.
Buck moans into the kiss, grabbing Eddie’s left thigh and putting his leg over his hip. He can feel Buck’s hard cock pressed up against his through thin layers of boxer briefs.
Eddie grinds harder into him, moaning softly, trying not to be too loud— he doesn’t want them to get caught like this. “You feel so fucking good, Buck,” he moans deeply into his ear, grinding harder into him.
Buck breathes heavily as he says, “I’ve never been this hard from kissing and light dry humping in my life. You’re driving me crazy, baby.” He puts his face into Eddie’s neck, kissing him, nipping at his skin softly.
Eddie moans, grinding harder against Buck, needing more. He reaches his hand into Buck’s briefs, and takes the base of his cock into his hand. Buck gasps softly at the touch before he moans into his neck, moving his lips up to devour Eddie’s mouth.
Buck does the same to Eddie, both of them releasing their cocks from their briefs and stroking each other in tune with their thrusts as they continue to grind on each other.
“Fuck— I need you so bad, baby. Wanna fuck you— God, I’ve pictured it so many times, the way you’d look as I fuck you hard and deep,” Buck moans out, picking up the speed on Eddie’s cock.
Eddie’s trying not to be loud but fuck, does he ever wanna scream out in pleasure right now. He’s leaking even more at the thought of Buck fucking him hard into the mattress. “Fuck, yes, anything you want, sweetheart. Wanna feel this big cock fuck me so hard, baby,” he says, stroking him harder. “You’d stretch me open so good, Buck. Can’t wait to feel the way this feels inside of me,” he moans, taking his mouth with his, kissing him deeply.
Buck moves his lips over to Eddie’s ear and moans, “I’m so close, baby— fuck, I love you so much.”
Buck crooks his wrist in just the right way timed with those words have Eddie coming hard into Buck’s hand, moans buried into Buck’s neck.
“Holy shit, baby,” Buck moans, as he comes hard into Eddie’s hand that didn’t stop stroking him through his orgasm, and kissing him hard on the lips.
Once they’ve regained their breaths, they quickly clean themselves with tissues that are on the bedside table that has a lamp on it. They get back into bed, Buck curling up against him. He smiles down at him, loving every second of the way this feels.
“This is really nice,” Buck says softly, looking up at him, his head on his chest.
Eddie smiles fondly before he leans in just a bit to kiss Buck right on his birthmark. Buck smiles at him softly.
They settle in, the comfiest Eddie’s ever been with a partner, then the alarm goes off. They instinctively jump out of bed, put their pants and shoes on, running out of the room and meeting everyone at the truck. Bobby was the last one there before they all piled into the truck.
Eddie’s sitting right next to Buck, his mind focused on work but also can’t help but think about what they just did and how comfortable they were together. Buck smiles at him softly, knocking his knee into his, before looking back out the window.
After work, he’ll ask Buck to come back home with him— and stay forever. This is it for Eddie. Buck is it for him.
