Changed...?

Summary:

Avid knows that Scott is a vampire, of course he knows. Scott wasn’t even trying to hide it. But everyone in town was getting tired of Avid repeatedly accusing Scott of being a vampire. So instead, he chose to keep an eye on the blue-haired man, which led to him trying to walk backward toward his house.

But what Avid didn’t know was how he had somehow ended up lying naked in a big fancy bed, with an even more obvious vampire, and equally naked, Scott. And why was everyone and everything so different from how he remembered them.

Or in other words:
Early episodes Avid (when the vampires are still living in the town) somehow ends up in the (alternate) future.
Avid x Scott happy ending, maybe.

I do not own these characters, they belong to their respective creators.

Chapter 1: Backwards

Chapter Text

There are many things that Avid found irritating about Scott, he had made an actual list. There are that many, despite what Drift says.

The first would obviously be how he is clearly a vampire, along with at least two other people in town, but more irritating is how he isn't even hiding it, and still, no one believes him when he tries to tell them.

So instead, Avid settled for simply keeping an eye on Scott, making sure he can't feed on any humans, and if he did, Avid would be there to quickly stake him.

It was this decision that led to Avid trying not to walk into anything as he walked backwards to his house, while maintaining eyesight of a smirking Scott (Standing next to a curious Shelby). He of course couldn't accomplish this and quickly ended up falling over.

He heard a few snickers from the remaining people, who had elected to stay and watch the current scene, instead of returning to their homes.

He quickly hurried to his feet once again and, with one last glare at Scott, he hurried into his house, where Drift was currently setting their table.

Drift looked up from the plate she had just sat down at his entrance "Did you accuse Scott of being a vampire again?" she asked.

"Nooo..." technically, he hadn't, he had just kept an eye on him, since he knew he was a vampire, but no one would believe him. He knew Drift didn't fully believe him either, but she had agreed to carry around silver and a stake.

She still wasn't fully on board with eating raw garlic, but as long as she was safe Avid could live with it.

Drift gave him a knowing look, but didn't say anything more on the topic, instead walking over to check on their dinner.

After cleaning up after dinner, he made sure that the house's entrances and windows were securely locked. It would be bad if any vampires (or other creatures, if Shelby is to be believed) somehow made their way inside while Avid and Drift were sleeping.

Taking one last look out of the window, before he pulled the curtain to block unwanted vampires from scaring him while wearing a skull mask, he caught sight of Owen, Pyro, and Scott talking by Scott and Shelby's front door.

He couldn't physically see if Shelby was part of their discussion, but since the front door was open, and it wasn't that large of a house to begin with, he just had to assume that she was on the other side of the door.

Something was off with Scott, everyone in town could agree on that, but Avid seemed to be the only one willing to call him a vampire.

From his pale, flawless skin to his blue hair that shone when the light hit it a certain way, to his old-timey clothes that he insisted were just fancier than Avid is used to, and not to mention his pearly white teeth, that were always too white, too long, and every opportunity Avid had to catch a look at what he knew would be there, a pair of long vampire fangs, Scott had covered his mouth with his hand.

Avid's eyes moved up from Scott's mouth to his eyes, which were already looking in his direction, which meant he accidentally locked eyes with Scott.

He quickly shut the curtain and took a moment to calm down from his panic at being caught checking out Scott spying on a vampire meeting.

He hurried through his bedtime rituals, only slowing down when he had to check on the wound on his neck. He held back a wince when he caught sight of it, it had only been getting worse recently, and he was unsure of what to feel about what he knew would happen eventually. Just like it had happened to her.

Going to bed he tried desperately to remove thoughts of a future he feared would happen as well as thoughts of a certain blue-haired vampire.

♥•••♥

When Avid woke up, he simultaneously felt like he hadn't slept at all and like he had had the best sleep of his life.

So, he decided to bury his head in the weirdly soft and silky pillow, with a groan, instead of getting up to start his day, and contented himself to lie in bed until Drift inevitably came to wake him for breakfast.

Except that didn't happen.

Instead, he felt the silk-like blanket that covered him start to move as someone shifted.

And of course, Avid's brain didn't connect the dots of someone else being in the bed with him, at least until he felt an arm wrap around his waist, pulling him gently toward them, until he felt his back touch someone's stomach.

"Are you awake yet, darling?" the person whispered into his ear.

Simultaneously, Avid tried to speak and turn to look behind him, but he quickly froze when he realized that both he and the man in the bed with him were very much naked. And if the soreness and stickiness he felt were any indication, they hadn't just been sleeping.

Avid quickly felt a shiver run all the way up his body, and he was sure his face was currently a very fiery pink.

He heard a quiet laugh from behind him, a very familiar laugh.

"You still turn such a pretty shade when flustered." Scott brushed a strand of hair behind Avid's ear before leaning forward and saying into his ear, "I love that I still have that kind of effect on you."

Scott pressed a kiss to the side of his jaw, and if possible, Avid's face would have turned even redder.

He finally snapped out of his stupor, although barely, as he felt Scott start to trail small kisses down his neck and over his shoulder.

"Scott?" Avid managed to squeak out.

Scott gave a little hum as he continued his kisses down Avid's arm, until he was gently holding Avid's hand to his lips.

Avid turned his head to look at Scott better, finally feeling Scott's other hand in his hair.

For a moment, Avid forgot how to speak.

Looking at a naked Scott lying on his side in a giant fancy bed, barely covered by a fancy silky blanket. There wasn't any light coming from the windows that Avid could see, but the light from a few lanterns cast a certain light that hit Scott in a certain way that made Avid feel a very certain way.

A certain way that he didn't feel like vocalizing, not that he even thought he could.

Luckily for him, he didn't have to.

As Scott's face broke into a gentle smile, "See something you like?" he asked with a little laugh, but didn't give Avid anytime to respond, before he had leaned forward and captured Avid's mouth with his own.
