Chapter Text

Seungmin lived his life wrapped in Versace and lounging on yachts, wealth not his but flaunted. He looked like a prince and was treated as such.

And Minho gave him absolutely whatever he wanted-at no cost. Just to sit and look pretty, which wasn’t hard for Seungmin.

That was the reason he had met Minho.

His pretty face had gotten him a lot of things, extended due dates, free coffees, and the richest CEO in Korea.

Yeah, he had it pretty nice.

Seungmin was sitting on the nice leather chair, sipping at some kale smoothie that tasted like shit but was apparently good for his skin, scrolling mindlessly. The maids were tutting around, cleaning and mopping before Minho came home.

Minho wasn’t tolerant of a dirty house. He wasn’t tolerant of much, really. No frowning except for him. No talking except for him. No moving except for him.

Seungmin was his soft spot, naturally, with his beautiful smile and cute face and pretty voice that Minho could listen to for hours.

It really surprised everyone when Minho-sharp, cold, professionally-raised Minho-softened around Seungmin, letting him do whatever he wanted.

And he loved him.

Really.

Truly.

Little texts throughout the day, long, in-detailed ones droning on about just Seungmin’s smile to a quick ‘love you’ could make Seungmin’s heart flutter.

The day was rainy and cold, gray quilting the sky. Rain pelted the windows as Seungmin shivered, pulling his thin, black hoodie tighter.

Seoul rolled underneath him, lights swirling in the smoky, silver twilight. Slick roads shone even hundreds of feet above the ground, and Seungmin remembered.

Remembered what it was like to be down there. Among the others struggling to even pay rent.

He didn’t want to go back. He’d never go back.

The door opened, a heavy metal thing that Seungmin always heard the maids complain about-and heard the distinct clicking of heels that he anticipated every night. “Seungie?” a slow, deep voice asked.

Seungmin grinned, setting his phone down and turned to see Minho’s exhausted but eager face. He let Minho set his hands on the armrests, trapping him as he kissed Seungmin slowly. “How was your day?” Minho asked, parting with a small smile playing on his lips.

Seungmin, a little giddy, said, “Very nice. I took a little trip to the library and got-”

Minho eyebrows furrowed, a clear sign to close his mouth. “The library? Seungie, please. You’re not in college anymore. You’ve got everything taken care of,” Minho’s tone was scolding, but Seungmin knew that it was light compared to what he could’ve gotten. He’d heard of hardened men in the business realm told off into tears because of Minho.

“I’m sorry, hyung,” Seungmin said softly, his chin turning down. If he was braver, a little stupider, he would’ve shot back that he just wanted to check out a single book, nothing thick or as heavy as his old college textbooks were. Just a little book he used to read when he was little, that his mom used to read to him.

Minho’s smile returned, cupping Seungmin’s face., “Oh, baby, it’s nothing. Whatever makes you happy,” he cooed, kissing the curve of his nose. “I have some work to do, and we can eat dinner together, okay?”

Seungmin nodded, letting Minho walk away, a maid taking his work bag and watching him disappear down one of the endless hallways.

Dinner was quiet, as always, just him and Minho at a small table near the window, food fresh and made especially for them by a private chef.

Seungmin’s portion was always a little smaller than Minho’s, just a little bit.

He picked at it, rice being shoved in sections, chopsticks never really reaching his mouth. He liked staying skinny for Minho. It made him happy. And if Minho was happy, Seungmin was happy.

Minho always told Seungmin about his day, the work issues, stock trends, lazy assistants. Seungmin nodded blindly, smiling even if he didn’t understand.

He wasn’t expected to understand, just smile and nod.

He was good at that.

Minho set his glass down. “Baby, are you wearing that sweater again?” he asked, narrowing his eyes just in the slightest.

Seungmin looked down, his black hoodie staring sadly back at him. “It was comfy,” he said quietly.

Minho sighed and said, “You have hundreds of sweaters, and you chose that one?”

Seungmin couldn’t help but flinch. He could take Minho’s temper, his disappointment, but he couldn’t take his judgment. He just felt so small. “My mom gave it to me,” he said softly, his eyes fluttering to his knees.

Minho rolled his eyes and said, “Wear something nice tomorrow. You don’t deserve filth,”

Seungmin wanted to say that his mother’s love wasn’t filth. But he said nothing. He continued to pick at his dinner and sip his water slowly.

“I’m going to bed,” Minho decided, standing up as a maid rushed in swiftly to pick up his plate. Seungmin stood up as well, following obediently.

The bedroom was large, decorated in soft creme that contrasted with Minho’s liking, but when Seungmin’s eyes lit up at the options, Minho caved in and chose. The fairy lights hung on Seungmin’s wardrobe cast a glow on the room, twinkling and reminding Seungmin of home.

Minho was in the shower as Seungmin wandered into the closet, choosing soft pajamas that Minho liked, said that ‘he felt like a fluffy puppy,’ and slipped them on quietly.

Minho stepped out of the shower, nothing but a towel on as Seungmin teased, “Hyungie, put a shirt on!”

Minho smirked, tickling the side of the other’s tummy, saying, “Do you find me distracting?”

Seungmin gasped a small ‘yes’ in between giggles, escaping to the large bed. “No wet Minhos are allowed on the bed,” he said stubbornly, crossing his arms.

Minho raised an eyebrow, and disappeared into the closet. He returned with a simple pair of pajamas and joined Seungmin in the bed, kissing his forehead. “Go to sleep, sweetheart. I’ve got something to tell you in the morning,” he said, tucking the corner of the blanket over Seungmin.

Minho slipped under the sheets, and Seungmin soon found himself in his arms, legs tangled together and a small hand fisting a shirt. Seungmin’s eyes fluttered shut, long eyelashes sweeping over smooth cheeks.

Minho couldn’t help but trace Seungmin’s face, fingers swooping down the curve of his nose and over his lips, warm breath brushing over his hand.

“Good night, love,” Minho said, before shutting off the light.

The dark was sweet, Minho's favorite. When his eyes adjusted, he could watch Seungmin sleep so peacefully. He loved how Seungmin would curl up, instinctively cling to him like a lost puppy.

He was so vulnerable and soft.

Seungmin deserved this. Deserved the princess treatment and the luxury and never having to work ever again. Never again.

He saved him from drowning himself in work and college and brought him to heaven on earth, Gucci in a graveyard, a miracle that never would have happened anywhere else. Any other universe Seungmin would still be suffering.

And soft little Seungmin wasn't nearly tough enough for reality.

So Minho kept him in his little world, letting him forget about the past and coddle him, treat him with every care in his heart.

You could say he was devoted.

You could say he was obsessed.

But Minho didn't care. He loved Seungmin.

He could only love Seungmin.
