    Summary

“I don’t want you by my side as my Wit,” Elhokar said. “At least not in that sense of the word.”

Wit hummed. “No? Then whatever other sense could there be?”

    “You know what…” Elhokar mumbled.

Wit just raised an eyebrow at him and tilted his head down, bringing their faces impossibly closer. “I don’t think I do. I’m afraid you’re going to have to tell me.”

Elhokar groaned and tilted his head back. “Are you seriously going to make me ask the question? Aren’t I your King?”

“Believe me, Elhokar. You will always be my King.”

To celebrate Elhokar bonding a spren, the royal family decides to host a celebratory gala.

And with his mother and both of his cousins having a date, Elhokar feels embarrassed. How is it that everyone has a date but him, the King?

As a last resort, Elhokar asks the only person he believes won’t judge him, Wit, to help him find a date.

Wit, being the worst best Wit his King could have ever asked for, does exactly that.

Too bad the one Elhokar truly wants is right in front of him. And when he finally realizes it… it’s too late.

    Or is it?
