Autumn light peered through the windows for shorter and shorter periods, and another year - another one spent together - was drawing to a close. Yet it wasn't just that year, something else was also coming to an end. While most people were writing Christmas shopping lists and planning how to spend that joyful time, others grappled with an entirely different issue: a loss that was inevitable.
Trying to live as normally as possible while simultaneously coming to terms with the situation, each subsequent touch and kiss grew ever more beautiful, yet increasingly painful, in anticipation of the unavoidable. Kanao wished for one thing that wasn't possible but despite the pain she had no intention of forgetting what had been, for memories would be the only thing left to her.
