“He needs help, Ponyboy!” Soda stood up.
“STOP PLEASE!” Ponyboy yelled, grabbing Soda. That’s when he noticed the fear in his brother’s face and tears streaming steadily down his cheeks.
“You can’t die! You can’t go in, Soda please! I can’t lose anyone else. I CAN’T! You can’t get yourself killed running into a fire like Johnny did! I can’t – I can’t do it again. I can’t deal with it again, please. Not you. Please not you. Please, please I can’t lose you too, Soda. Not you. Please not you. Please!” He wrapped his arms around Soda’s waist as tightly as he could, sobbing and shaking.
