In the dive bars and crumbling playgrounds of Gotham, a ten-year-old narrator develops a terrifying gift: they see the future. And the future shows them Jason Peter Todd—loud, kind, beloved Jason—with his head bashed in.They watch him from a distance. They never speak his name. They sit at his feet while he tells stories about old gods and green paradises. They break a boy's nose for calling him a coward. They know, with sickening certainty, that nothing they do will save him.
Then Jason dies. Then Jason comes back.
