Chapter Text
It's a clear day on the planet mobius as we see two trails along its field, one being a streak of blue wind while the other is a line of flames. We follow the two blurs as they reach the peak of a mountain revealing themselves as Sonic and Blaze. They look up and seeing a miniature planet hanging in the sky.
"So this is the famed 'Little Planet'?" Blaze asked while admiring the sight of the strange world in the sky.
"Yep! An awesome sight isn't it?" Sonic looks at her while she crosses her arms and and see her tail slightly wag with curious excitement. He snickers at her reaction, 'I knew she would love this'
Blaze hears his laughing and turns to see him in looking away while wiping his nose with his pointer finger. she blushes and turns back to the planet,'"so how are we planning on reaching the surface I don't exactly see Tails or the tornado nearby?".
Sonic suddenly freezes, eyes opening wide realizing his mistake."Shoot didn't think of that, guess we don't have giant EggHead chains to climb this time do we?'
"EggHead chains?", Blaze ask looking at Sonic confused.
" Long story but let's just say that my last visit to this place involved stopping a harebrained scheme of his." Sonic reminisced.
"Seems like many of your adventures involved thwarting the doctor." Blaze comments. Sonic hold his chin while figuring a way to the planet.
" Definitely, but can't really complain.As much pain Eggman is, he sure makes things more interesting."
Sonic then smiles as he snaps fingers," well since Eggface isn't here, how about you give use a lift?" Blaze's eye widen as she face palmed, how could she forget she could use her flames for flight.
"Hey if it makes you feel better, it took me a second to remember that handy trick of your's too" Sonic chuckles. Blaze shakes her head as she takes his hand and starts to launch into the sky.
They soon land on Palmtree panic and take in the scenery of the green fields connected palm trees.
"This place truly is remarkable, I've never seen any place like this its a shame this world can be visited for a limited time." Blaze says as she and Sonic stroll the zone, still holding hands without realizing.
"Heh you got that right, out of all the places I've seen Little Planet seems the most farout, well expect maybe Lost Hex".
"Lost He-?!" Blaze started to ask turning to sonic only to see their hands still joined. sonic looks now and also realized they never really let go of each other hands. They instantly let go.
They both blush and look away from each other, sonic more mildly embarrassed turning his head and scratching his quills while blaze has an atomic blush on they face unable to look at sonic while cursing herself in her mind.
Sonic wanting to break the awkward moment suddenly shots," HEY, HOW ABOUT A RACE?" it works as blaze jolts out of her trance and looks at the hedgehog. "A race?", Blaze questions.
Sonic seeing his plan worked explained,"well like you said we don't have a lot of time until the planet disappears for the rest of the year so what better way to sightsee then an old fashion race. unless of course you think you can't keep up." Sonic says with cocky grin.
Blaze see Sonic's grin and glares at the hedgehog." very well hedgehog I accept your challenge but don't complain when I leave you in the dust." Blaze says now wearing a smirk of her own.
" oooh kitty's got her claws out eh, all right first on out of the zone and into the next wins". sonic says now stretching his legs.
"then let's begin." blaze says finishing her own stretches.
"Ready," sonic sonic begins as he and blaze gets into starting positions.
"GO!"
With burst of speed both took off across the zone. It is a close match with Sonic taking the lead. " Sorry princess, but it looks like I'm winning this little match.", the hedgehog gloats much to her frustration.
" IT'S NOT OVER YET!,"the sol princess shouts summoning her flames to pass the blue blur not realizing she also passed a certain checkpoint.
"PAST"
Sonic slows down at the familiar voice and look back seeing a checkpoint post, but instead of the usual star top it has a turned sign reading 'past'. his eyes widen as he turns to Blaze and speeds up to meet her.
"BLAZE!! STOP OR AT LEAST SLOW DOWN!" Sonic screams trying to catch blaze's attention.
Blaze thinking Sonic was trying to cheat ignored his running picking up speed." Sorry sonic but I'm winning this!"
As she runs, white sparks start to cover the cat more appearing as she runs.Sonic notices and try to reach her, "BLAZE!" but it was too late, as she disappears in a flash of light.
"SONIC!" Blaze screams as she falls through the time vortex soon losing consciousness.
