Lucky Star

Chapter 3: Nothing but the Stars

Summary:

Slow. The turning of the earth, the burning of stars, Kirara’s breaths. Everything was slow here.

And though Hakari had always felt uncomfortable in a stillness, no longer did that trouble him. Not with her.

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

It felt like a dream to wake up next to her.

Kirara was pressed against him, her head on his shoulder, tucked into his side. She softly cooed in her sleep, mumbling every so often. She normally woke early and was up for several hours before him, but today, she slept in.

Hakari didn’t dare move, partially because he was still sore from the night before. Mostly, it was because he didn’t want to wake her. He thought he could lay with her forever. It was peaceful, slow, unlike everything else in their lives.

BZZZT. BZZZT. BZZZT.

Damnit.

Kirara began to stir as his phone vibrated on the nightstand. His hand soothed at her back, her skin smooth and delicate, attempting to lull her back to rest.

“Mmmm…” she mumbled as he reached for the phone to shut it off.

The dimmed screen flashed several missed calls and dozens of texts from Marii.

On several occasions he had tried to break up with her, but she was persistent, bordering on crazy. She would incessantly call and text and show up at his place until they were eventually back to their usual routine.

But he wouldn't let that happen now. Not when he had everything he could ever need in his arms.

“You should call her back,” Kirara mumbled sleepily. “Break up with her. Today.”

“Bossy now, are we?” Hakari chuckled, kissing the top of her head.

“If you’re mine now, you’re mine, Kin. I’m not playing games with you like these other girls do,” she muttered, looking up at him.

He couldn’t help himself, he leaned down, greedily tasting her lips again as if he hadn’t gotten enough. But he hadn’t, because how much time did they waste not being together?

“I’m serious, Kin,” she said between deep kisses. “Today.”

“Yes, baby,” Hakari whispered to her. It was easy to call her pet names because they had done it by accident so many times. Being around another person as much as they have been would have anyone slipping up. Like a kid calling their teacher mom, he often called her babe or baby subconsciously. “Today.”

“Don’t bring me into it either, she’s crazy,” Kirara told him as she started to sit up.

“Come back,” Hakari whined as Kirara rose from the bed and pulled on an oversized t-shirt.

“You need a shower. You smell, Kin,” she laughed. “Are you feeling better at least?”

“I don’t think I’ve ever felt better than this,” he said, watching her sit at a small vanity table. She ran her thin fingers through her hair, scrunching her nose in the mirror. “Take a shower with me”

Her eyes rolled hard as she dramatically turned back to him. “You’re such a slut,” she smirked.

Hakari winced as he sat up, the pain in his lower back shooting up his spine. That didn’t stop him from going to Kirara, kissing her on the head, and picking her up with slight strain. If he wasn’t so sore from his fight, she would have been weightless in his arms.

Kirara giggled as he brought her to the bathroom a few doors away, sitting her on the counter.

After he turned on the shower, he came back to pull off her shirt. Hakari himself was still naked from the night before, so he immediately was over her again. His hands roamed over her body, exploring every inch of her flesh until his fist was around her hardening cock again.

“You’re so fucking cute,” he mumbled to her, feeling her heat building as steam began to fog the bathroom.

Hakari had watched a lot of porn in his life, so he had seen his fair share of dick. Never had he ever found them appealing to look at or had a desire to touch another person’s cock. But Kirara’s?

He couldn’t keep his hand off of hers.

The way she keened when he stroked it, how it twitched in his palm, the soft moans of the pleasure she received from Hakari.

It was adorable how it ached for him. A physical manifestation of his girl’s desire.

He kissed down her chest, all the way to her soft belly as his knees fell to the tile of the bathroom floor.

And soon, he found himself facing her cock, only inches away.

“Kin?” she whispered.

“Yes, baby?”

“You don’t have to do this,” she softly said. “I know you’re straight. Just because I have one doesn’t mean you have to…”

Hakari took her into his mouth, his lips wrapping around her width, inching all the way until his nose pressed against her stomach. It slipped between his lips with ease, the length short enough where it fit perfectly against his tongue.

Her fingers tanged in his hair, letting out a sigh of relief.

Hakari had gotten head before, he knew the movements to make it feel good, at least he hoped he did.

Kirara tasted so sweet, he wondered how the hell she got her dick to taste like cherries too.

“Fuck,” she gasped, her voice so adorably soft, it guided his movements. “I’m going to…”

Hakari stood up, replacing his mouth with his hand, using his spit to slick over her.

“Cum on my dick, babygirl,” he said, setting his rock hard length just under hers. “It’s so fucking sexy.”

Hakari had vices. Gambling, drinking, smoking. They all had gradual builds until becoming weaved into his life. Nothing happened as quickly as this. He hadn’t fallen for anything harder than this.

Now that he had gotten a taste of Kirara, being in this heated intimacy with her was one thing he could never be without.

BANG BANG BANG.

“Hakari?” Marii yelled through the door.

Kirara jumped, holding her hand over her mouth, startled at the sound, but Hakari kept stroking her.

“Finish,” he growled to Kirara, his voice low and demanding.

BANG BANG BANG.

“Babe? You in there?”

“Give me a second, Marii,” he called back angrily, his eyes affixed on Kirara’s face. Her eyes were fluttering as she choked back moans.

“Is someone in there with you?” Marii called, but Hakari didn’t answer, all he could focus on was Kirara.

BANG BANG BANG.

Kirara bit her lip, her starry eyes rolling back as she began to release onto his cock. The way she moved was so beautiful, he didn’t think he’d ever seen anything that could compare. No spinning of slots that landed on sevens, no jackpot or flashy lights could ever come close.

He kissed her softly before shooing her into the shower, keeping an eye on her plump ass until she pulled the curtain shut.

BANG BANG BANG.

Hakari cracked the door open, finding Marii just outside of it. Her face was pulled into an angered frown with her arms crossed.

“Who’s in there, Hakari?” she confronted him.

“No one,” he lied, keeping his foot against the door as he wrapped a towel around his waist.

“You’re lying. Some bitch is in there, I can smell girly shampoo. Is it that one with the fucked up front tooth?” She attempted to open the door, but Hakari wouldn’t let it budge.

“You should go, Marii. We’re done,” he flatly said.

The rage in her came to a head. “Are you fucking stupid? I am the best thing that’s ever happened to you.”

That was nowhere near the truth. They argued nearly every day, she had maxed out all of his credit cards, and was quite manipulative. She was cunning, and Hakari often thought too much with his dick.

“I am stupid, that’s true. But you are far from the best thing that’s ever happened to me.”

“And that slut in there is?”

“Yeah, actually, she is,” Hakari said with confidence. He had never had that much conviction of anything in his life, even when the odds were completely in his favor.

There was a moment of recognition on Marii’s expression, as if she was piecing together a puzzle Hakari had thrown onto a table.

“It’s her, isn’t it?” she asked. “That dude. I knew you were a bit soft, Hakari, but I didn’t think you were into that.”

“What the fuck did you just call her?” Hakari asked, opening up the door wider.

“It makes sense why you like it when I play with your asshole so much,” she snarkily replied, ignoring the root of his vexation. “Kirara can probably fuck you much better than I ever could.”

He didn’t care what words she aimed at him, he was battle worn to their feuds. But having Kirara in the crosshairs was out of the question.

“Keep her name out of your fucking mouth,” Hakari spat.

Anger was a default emotion he used as a crutch. Being levelheaded was easy when he felt in control of the conversation, and in this instance, he wasn’t.

“Kin-chan?” Kirara blustered from the shower. “Can you come wash my back?”

With her calling, none of it seemed to matter anymore. The red filter over his eyes had shut off, the only thing he could see was his path to get to her sooner.

He shut the door in Marii’s face, never to turn back.

A few days had gone by and Hakari still found himself in this state of bliss. They had spent every hour together, waking and asleep. Mainly because after he shut the door on Marii, she destroyed his futon and most of the stuff in his office. The past few nights were spent with Kirara in his arms surrounded by stuffed animals.

Though the first night they spent together was fiery and desperate, they had slowed down substantially. Slowing their tempo felt natural and necessary when their lives were nothing but a blur.

Most time was spent preparing The Lucky Star until it opened, working until near sunrise, and then kissing until they fell into a deep slumber.

Today, Kirara had left early with some of her friends, an “errand day” she had called it. Hakari was setting up new and updated furniture for himself with music blasting loudly.

It wasn’t until the door to his office opened when he noticed the man standing there. Usually, he didn’t have to worry about unwanted visitors with Kirara around, but today, he had let his guard down.

A man he hadn’t seen in over a year leaned against the entrance, waiting patiently. Hakari stood, shutting the stereo off, finally acknowledging him.

“What could you possibly want?” Hakari groaned.

Satoru Gojo had a shit eating grin on his face, “Came to check the new place out. The second and third year students can’t stop talking about it. It looks nice.”

“You can take a better look on your way out,” Hakari grumbled.

Though Gojo was one of the only teachers that embraced Kirara and himself, he still was a part of the oppressive system that had made them outsiders. There was a small piece of Hakari that missed his old sensei’s antics, the excitement of never knowing what he had planned for the day, but there was never any regret for leaving that forsaken place.

“I just wanted to drop by and say congratulations on your grand opening. I heard it was a big night for you. People say your fighting was beyond brilliant,” Gojo said, his tone almost disarming if Hakari wasn’t hyper suspicious of his presence.

Hakari stood firm. “I’m not going back, if that’s why you’re here.”

Gojo took a sharp breath through his teeth, clicking his tongue in a slight disappointment. “Unfortunately, I’m not here for you, as much as I begged the higher ups to ask for you back.”

Kirara. He was here for Kirara.

“She’s not coming with you either, you can get that idea out of your head,” Hakari stated as a fact.

Gojo shrugged. “Kirara is quite unique, isn’t she? Love Rendezvous is one of the most powerful defensive techniques known. It’s saved your life many times, and with training, can save many more.”

“Training at that fucking hell hole? No way,” Hakari scoffed. “They’ll just beat her down there. They don’t respect her. And they sure as hell won’t accept her, not even if she saved the whole fucking world.”

Gojo entered the office, despite not being invited in, but Hakari couldn’t bring himself to tell him no.

“What’s the play here, Hakari? The two of you Bonnie and Clyde it up till the end of time?” he asked, though it was rhetorical, even Hakari could decipher that. Gojo sat on the new futon, cozying up on the seat. “Do you really think that underground fights are going to give her the most fulfilling life? Do you really think her potential is at its fullest here?”

Hakari didn’t want to answer because there was always something deep in him that knew taking her was selfish. He had known it the day she followed him out of that damn school.

Kirara could be something, she could be a fucking star, while he’d always be damned to a life of degeneracy.

That’s all he was. That was all he could be. A selfish man.

“People think differently, but I know you’re smart, Hakari.”

Hakari leaned back against a wooden dresser across from Gojo, his palms resting at the lip, bracing himself.

“No one will protect her if I’m not there, and I can’t go back. I won't go back.”

“I will,” Gojo said, his voice firm, the jovial nature that he had entered with turning serious. “You know I will protect her.”

That was the truth, because Gojo was the only teacher who had ever made them feel worth knowing. The only one who could see their potential.

“She won’t go without me,” Hakari said, his tone low, unheard by the average ear.

“Well, maybe you can talk to her. Let her know I dropped by.”

Hakari nodded, and Gojo left without another word.

Hakari watched Kirara apply lipgloss in the passenger seat of his car. The yellow light from the sun visor lit up her face, making her pink glossed lips look absolutely delicious.

She was wearing a tight black mini dress with a fur collar coat draped over her shoulders. Hakari’s hand was on her thigh, caressing her smooth flesh.

They were in the parking lot of a haughty French restaurant they hadn’t ever been to. The Lucky Star was closed for the night, Hakari wanted to treat his girl out to celebrate a week of good business.

Their first date, though, they had hundreds of meals and outings together before.

Kirara clung to his arm as they made their way inside the restaurant. They sat side by side in a circular booth, Hakari’s arm snaked around her waist, hand resting on her hip.

Tea lights were scattered on the table, the restaurant almost too dim to read the menu. Not like Hakari needed to see it though, Kirara eagerly talked to the waiter, ordering whatever her heart desired.

They were, for lack of a better word, out of place. Confused glances were shot in their direction from other patrons and the waiter seemed nervous when Kirara ordered their most expensive wine and top shelf liquor for him.

Hakari was never much for fancy foods like this, he had rare exposure to it. Kirara was always watching those videos on her phone about Michelin star restaurants late at night. Usually, rice and meat would suffice for Hakari, but everything that Kirara fed to him was absolutely divine.

As he sat back in the booth, relaxing with his arm still around her, she’d scoop a perfect bite onto a fork for him before giving herself an equal one.

God, he loved watching her eat. He swore his cock twitched each time she closed her eyes, savoring each taste, swallowing with a delighted smile.

He pressed his lips against her ear. “You look so fucking sexy when you eat.”

Kirara giggled, her skin hot to the touch in an addictive way that made him pull her closer. The effects of wine and dopamine from their meal gave her a feverish glow.

He couldn’t wait to get her away from here, away from prying eyes and shitty classical music. Hakari just wanted her to himself.

After he paid the bill, tipping handsomely, he drove her a bit of a ways to Okutama. It had been years since he had visited, not since he was a boy, but he knew it was perfect for Kirara.

The busyness of the city couldn’t find them here, the fluorescent lights were long gone. They laid on a blanket in a grassy field with nothing but the stars above them.

Kirara’s head rested on his chest as she pointed towards the sky.

“That bright one there is Orion, and just above it,” she said, moving her finger slightly upwards. “That’s Gemini.”

“Pretty,” Hakari mumbled. “Nerdy, but pretty.”

“Hey, space is cool,” she grumbled.

“How can someone so hot be such a nerd?” Hakari laughed.

“My cursed technique, duh. See that smaaall constellation there? Well, that’s the Southern Cross,” she whispered. “I wish you could see it better. I wish you could feel it like I can.”

“I feel it right here,” he said, pulling her closer.

She turned on her side, tracing her finger against his chest, soothing small swirls and patterns Hakari was sure were constellations.

Slow. The turning of the earth, the burning of stars, Kirara’s breaths. Everything was slow here.

And though Hakari had always felt uncomfortable in a stillness, no longer did that trouble him. Not with her.

He wanted to keep her here forever where she was nothing but his.

That was selfish, he knew. He had promised her he would make it better for them. But what if what was best for her was going back to school?

“Gojo stopped by yesterday. He was looking for you,” Hakari admitted, his mind fighting itself on the confession.

“Hm? Is he mad about Megumi and Yuji hanging around?” she asked.

Hakari sighed, draping his arm over his eyes. “Not exactly. He said he wanted you to go back and finish your training.”

“What about you?”

“This isn’t about me,” he replied.

Kirara looked up at him, confusion plastered on her pretty face. “Well you told him to fuck off, right?”

“I told him I’d talk to you. He had some good points. You’re powerful, Kirara. You are so fucking smart and you have so much potential. All I’m ever going to do is hold you back,” he pleaded, the thoughts he always had finally manifesting into spoken words. “Maybe it’s what’s best for you.”

Hakari would never hold it against her if she left him for something better. For something beyond brawls in a parking garage. For something beyond him.

“Don’t talk like that, Kin. For years, I’ve been in love with you. I’ve waited so long. I’m not going to leave now that I have you. Don’t make me leave when I finally have you,” she begged, her hand resting over his beating heart as she looked up at him. “This is what’s best for me.”

Hakari cupped her cheek in his hand, his palm nearly swallowing her whole. “How did I get so lucky?”

His lips found hers in the starlight, savoring every breath from her lungs. He laid her against the blankets and pillows, caging her underneath him, keeping her as his.

In response, she clung to him, her arms and legs wrapping so tightly around his body, he nearly couldn’t breathe. Nothing could pull them apart.

In a matter of moments, they were both bare, tangled into one another. Their hardened cocks were pressed together, bodies moving in tandem to feel the sweet release that friction could bring.

Hakari would move as slow as she wanted. He’d slow to a crawl if she commanded him to. Though he desperately wished to be inside of her, he hadn’t dared ask.

Especially because, in comparison to her body, he was huge. His cock laid upon her stomach nearly spanned her whole abdomen. Fitting inside of her was going to require much effort, if she wanted.

But the way she purred against him tonight, the change in her tempo, the feverish way she kissed him, he wagered she was wanting more.

Hakari kissed down her body, peppering his lips across every part of her, paying attention to sensitive areas where she mewled at his touch. He found himself between her legs, her thighs at either side of his face as he licked her ass.

His tongue dug deep as he pulled on her cock, the babbling and whimpering a clear sign to him that she was experiencing pleasure.

Every moan was soft and feminine, beautifully audible in the open field.

Kirara reached for her purse, digging around briefly before pulling out a bottle that was clearly lubricant.

“You are prepared,” Hakari chuckled, leaning back over her. “Does this mean…”

“I want you to fuck me, Kin,” she blurted out, blushing.

Hakari coated himself in the lube, using the excess still on his fingers to ease them slowly inside of her. He slipped his index finger up to his knuckle, her warmth lulling him deeper.

“You’re so tight, baby,” he muttered, easing his middle finger in.

Kirara whimpered as she touched her dick, stroking herself, matching his movements.

“Are you ready for my fat cock in your tiny little hole?” he asked.

She bit her lip, nodding eagerly as he lined his head at her entrance.

As he eased his way in, he paid close attention to her body, moving slowly, ensuring that she was comfortable.

It was impossible holding back, she was swallowing him, choking his dick with every inch he slipped inside.

“Fuck,” she cursed, her fingernails biting into his shoulders. “You’re so big, Kin. It feels so good.”

Hakari reveled in her praise, fucking his cock into her with a steadied pace. His greedy hand took her cock again, unable to keep away, wanting to please her in every way imaginable.

Kissing her, stroking her, fucking her. Everything and anything for her.

“I love you,” he whispered, buried deep inside Kirara, his lips swollen from worshiping her with them.

Kirara softly cried, spilling her cum into his hand as she found her peak. Hakari knew he’d soon follow.

Her pleasure was his jackpot, a royal flush, a victory that satisfied every hedonistic need.

He emptied inside of her, moaning into her mouth, muttering about how good she felt and how much he loved her.

They laid together under the night sky with only the stars bearing witness. He had never felt more at peace.

“You were right,” she sighed. “It is really good dick.”

“Lucky for you, there’s more where it came from,” he chuckled.

She grinned, the starlight making the stars in her eyes glow. “I guess I am really lucky.”

We are,” Hakari assured her.

As she fell asleep in his arms, he thought about every moment that brought them here. All of the risks, the gambles they took together, the trust he held in her fully, an accumulation of the bond they had built.

Was it luck?

It had to have been.

Kirara was his lucky star.
