Chapter Text
Dennis had already had a shitty day at work, a patient threw up on him, he’s had to change scrubs twice already and it’s not even 10 yet, all he wants to do is go home. He hears yelling from the waiting room and runs over to see what the commotion is, he sees a man, bleeding on the floor he runs over to make sure the man is okay when he feels a sharp stabbing pain in his arm, he ignores it thinking it’s just a cramp when another stabbing pain hits his upper thigh making his vision blur. Before his vision goes fully black he hears Dana, the charge nurse screaming for security..
~What I wouldn't give to be in church this Sunday
Listening to the choir so heartfelt, all singing
"God loves you, but not enough to save you"~
Pain shoots through Dennis’s leg as his mind comes to, when he opens his eyes he’s met with the bright white light of the hospital, he tries to move, he can’t no matter how hard he, tries his body will not let him move, holy shit am I dead Denis can’t help but think to himself is this heaven? he tries to move his head but he can’t, he can hear the heart monitor beeping faster, he must be panicking, he doesn’t even have time to blink before it goes dark again
~So I said fine, 'cause that's how my daddy raised me
If they strike once, then you just hit 'em twice as hard
But in the end, if I bend under the weight that they gave me~
”when will he wake up” Dennis hears a voice say, a female voice, trinity’s voice, she sounds worried “we don’t know yet” a male voice this time Robby? no not Robby he’d no if it was robby, maybe Jack Abbot, but why would night shift be here it’s only 9:27 “do you have a guess” Trinity asks no response from the male. it goes silent again
His eyes open again met by the same annoyingly bright hospital lights, he tries to turn his head and this time it works thank god for that he sees Trinity asleep in the hard uncomfortable plastic chairs “… Trin?” Dennis croaks out, trinity wakes up almost immediately at the sound of his hoarse voice, “hey hey careful” he hates how worried she sounds “what the hell happened” Dennis can’t help but ask “… you don’t remember?”
~And I'm still praying for that house in Nebraska
By the highway, out on the edge of town
Dancing with the windows open~
