Chapter Text

What a beautiful day in the Vanilla Kingdom, isn't it amazing? The glory of the kingdom is back, the sky blue with the sun shining bright, birds chirping and flying, cookies having a peaceful day..

Everything was wonderful now, the war was months ago.. or a year? Maybe even more than a year..

Inside the Vanilla Castle was.. dark and silent, considering its daytime and the kingdom was lively. Footsteps, rather slow and quiet ones, could be heard inside the castle, each step echoing through the halls..

The door to the bedchamber of the walking figure- a blond haired cookie with tan dough- opened, the room was even darker from the hall, almost pitch black. The cookie stepped in and closed the door behind. A tired exhale came from the cookie, he sounded worn out, something was definitely on his mind. The cookie slowly aproached to the windows, the curtains were closed. He reached and opened the curtains a tad bit, letting slight sunlight inside.

...

A thud came from the bed, the cookie was now laying on the bed. The room was dead silent for little less than a minutes until a quiet sob echoed in the room. Then crying..

It continued for 10 minutes... then 25... until the only thing that could be heard was the rustling of the beds sheets and slow shaky breaths.

He was sleeping, the same dream.. no, the nightmare. Who would call the flashbacks of losing your beloved in your sleep as dreams?

The time passed.. the scenery was the same, except for the light coming from the curtains gap, which was orange now. The sun was going down.. at least a few hours must've passed.

The birds chirping on the windowsill, waiting for the sleeping figures company. They must like him..

After a little bit more, a indistinct cookie appeared next to the bed. The second the figure appeared out of nowhere, a heavy scent of lilies started to spread throughout the room.

The figure opened the curtain further, letting more light come from the window. Inside of the room was more visible now..

The scent of the lilies heavies. Dark fuchsia eyes glow for a second.

...

Pure Vanilla Cookie starts to wake up to the heavy and sharp scent of lilies, followed by a hand stroking his head, the gesture from the unknown cookie comforting.

His eyes opens, trying to perceive who that cookie was..  his vision was blurry, but the glow of the vibrant fuchsia eyes with dark hue was not something any eye can ignore.

...

He froze. Is this real? The cookie in front of him... was it really her? He was trembling, his eyes were locked into the other cookies eyes.

"Pure Vanilla Cookie.." the cookie said. The cookies voice was soft and quiet, trying to not startle the other cookie further from the state he was in.

"White Lily Cookie..?" Pure Vanilla croaked out, reaching a hand to the other cookies face, trying to make sure what happening was real and he was not imagining or someone was playing with him, as worse. As soon as Pure Vanilla's hand touched the other cookies cheek, he pulled back a little bit. Her dough was cold, like a corpses body. It was also like touching a feather, a ghost like feeling. The sensation lingered on Pure Vanilla's hand.

"White Lily Cookie... Are you- how?" Pure Vanilla was confused, frightened, shocked, and a glint of hope was visible in his mismatched eyes. "This is real... its too real for a dream..." he was whispering to himself, sitting up and looking around the room until his eyes found her eyes again.

White Lily looked down, her eyes drooping a little, she was wondering if this was the right decision, suddenly appearing as almost alive after a long time of being dead, but she wasnt alive.. no, she was not, she was just a ghost. She didnt even have a heartbeat anymore. Just a potion she drank when she was just a kid in the academy, as the sake of a experiment showing its magic. "Are you scared?" She asked.

"It would be a lie if I said I'm not frightened.." he stated, he was trying to be more casual and calm, but his expression was betraying. "How are you here...?"

"Do you remember... when we were still in the academy, I used to test potions without proper explanations to try and find whats their purpose were?"

Oh.

White Lily looked away from him, staring at the lily in the vase next to Pure Vanilla's bed. It was the lily that used to be on her hair. She raised her hand to touch her hair, where the lily used to be..

Why is this so awkward?

"... I'm glad that you are here, with me, even if not... compeletely." Pure Vanilla said. He was being genuine with what he said. His eyes were a bit glossy, holding tears, and a small smile was on his lips.

...

He was looking at her, she was still just like before... but the cold radiating from her was noticeable. After
thinking for a while, he hugged her, trying to be close to her again. The coldness of her dough was feeling like ice next to his warmth. White Lily slowly wrapped her arms around him, and letting him hug her for a while until he breaks the hug to look at her again, a few tears rolling down his face. Concern immediately showed up on White Lily's face.

"Will you leave me once again...?"

...

"I'll be with you... in every way."

...

A soft thud came. The dead and alive was tangled. The alive cookies arms are around the deads, holding onto her like a lifeline. He felt her cold hands caress his cheeks. He looks at her, only to see her smiling gently at him.

...

This felt too much like a dream. It felt wrong. This wasn't real. Or was it? Doesnt matter, even if it was real or not, his mind ended up in the same scenario imagining...

He got closer... and closer... kiss. A soft, gentle one, filled with longing and sadness. It lasted long.. maybe a minute? Or maybe more... does it matter?

Knock.

Pure Vanilla opened his eyes abruptly, his eyes wide.

... it was a dream.

He sat up, looking around, how much time even passed? He touched his lips. He can swear he felt it, it felt too real.

He then saw that the lily in the vase was gone.

...

Sob. A tear fell onto the beds sheets.
