   Summary

   How much of this world's cruelty can love bear, and how much is too much?
   In a world where the apocalypse never came, Troy met Nick, a homeless drug addict, on the street right after his first day of school, after a long time away. There was something about Nick that made Troy unable to look away. Could this fateful encounter actually be the way out of hell for these two lost souls? Or is it just the beginning of something even worse?

   Nick wasn’t sure what to think of the man he’d met the previous night.

   At first, he thought it was funny how awkward he was. He was just messing around and never imagined the guy would actually take the joint.

   But after Troy came alive, Nick was somehow fascinated by him. There was something about him that drew Nick in—he was a humorous, charismatic, and overly good-looking asshole. Nick wanted more of him—he needed more of him. Being with him felt almost like the heroin flowing through his veins.

   But then, when he beat up those wannabe gangsters, he scared Nick.

   It was probably supposed to scare Nick off, but he still couldn’t get the boy out of his head.
