Chapter Text
Hyde parked his car at the back of the hotel to be as far away from the other cars as he possibly could. He was already upset he had to get a “Real Job” Getting his price possession totaled would just be the cherry on top he didn't want.
He walked as slowly as he could before he made it into the hotel trying to prolong his last minutes of freedom from the man. He opened the kitchen door and was met with Kelso's ex sitting on the counter.
Her hair was in a high ponytail and not one part of her uniform out of place. Her posture was a bit slouched as she inspected her nails.
She clearly hadn't noticed him enter, Or maybe she did and she just didn't care enough to greet him. Under his voice he mumbled "You've got to be kidding me”. His bag hit the ground and that grabbed her attention.
She titled her head slightly to the side “Hyde”
He gave her a small nod “Jackie”
She frowned a little, obviously feeling the same as him about the situation. In the short time they knew each other it wasn't exactly a fun experience for either side.
“You're not robbing the place are you?” She hopped off the counter and smoothed out any creases in her skirt.
Yep, They were gonna kill each other “Jackie what is there even to steal here?” The place was old and crappy. He made his way over to the fridge and started prepping for the day.
He knew how to cook a little from Mrs. Forman but running a whole kitchen would definitely be a challenge. Roy had reassured him they barely get any customers so he probably wouldn't have to cook half the time and if he did the food probably just needed to be heated up.
Jackie stood behind him “So roy hired you”
Hyde glanced over at her before going back to getting his surroundings of the kitchen “Yep” he pointed at both of them “His standards are pretty low”
She crossed her arms over her chest “All have you know he basically begged me to work her”
Hyde chuckled “Oh I bet, you seem like just the right person to take orders”
Jackie scoffed “If anyone's giving orders it'll be me telling you what to cook” With that she turned on her heels and left into the dining room.
Off to a great start huh?
—---------------------------------------
The day had been surprisingly easy, Of course not as easy as the photohut but hey hell take what he can get. Other then jackie bring in orders or taking dishes out to the customers they really didn't speak to one another.
The orders were easy enough to get done like Roy said all he really had to do was reheat prepackaged food. He was set to leave but was stopped when Jackie walked in “Congrats on not burning down the place, I know that must have been hard for you” She gave him a small satisfied smile at her burn.
And so the bickering starts “Your makeups smeared” The joy he felt when he saw her eyes shoot open couldn't be explained with words. She pushed him to the side slightly as she held up a pan to check her makeup.
“You're such a liar!” he chuckled as She lowered the pan and glared at him “And to think I was gonna be nice to you”
He raised on of his brows over his sunglasses“I didn't know you could do that”
She stuck her tongue out at him then reached into her apron “Here's part of the tips I made today” She held out the cash for him to grab.
They both stood there for what felt like ages before he spoke “Am not taking your money man”
He turned on his heel to leave but Jackie shouted after him “Who turns down money? God dont make this weird waiters and buss boys always share tips”
He opened the door to the dining room and heard Jackie follow him “Well funny enough am not a buss boy”
Jackie sped up so she was blocking his exit to the parking lot “did you do the dishes today?”
He slowly nodded. She shoved the cash into his pocket “Then congrats your doing the job of two” She then walked out the exit and made her way to her car.
Huh, he'd have to talk to Roy about a pay raise. He glanced down at the now crumpled up cash in his pocket. If Kelso could put up with her enough to date the girl he could survive working with her.
