Summary
Harry Potter and Draco Malfoy were supposed to be serving detention. Instead, thanks to an ill-advised Portkey incident, they end up stranded in the last place either of them belongs—Canaryville, Chicago, in the early 2000s, right next to a South Side high school.
They have no wands, no way back, and no idea how to navigate the Muggle world. Worse, the American magical government, MACUSA, is notoriously strict about undocumented magical presence. If they get caught, deportation will be the least of their problems.
So, naturally, they lie.
Introducing themselves as “exchange students” from a “prestigious European school,” they bullshit their way into the system—only to get assigned to live with Lip Gallagher. Now, they’re trapped in one of the most chaotic households imaginable, stuck between criminal schemes, teenage drama, and a city that doesn’t give a damn about where they came from.
Draco is horrified.
Harry is adjusting a little too well.
Mandy Milkovich is onto them.
Mickey hates Draco on sight.

He leaves Britain and he ends up in Chicago, as he walks down the street with his trunk, he meets a guy who he asks if he knows of anywhere he could stay and that money was no object. The guy's name is Carl Gallagher and he offers to let Harry stay at his place for $250.

or a rendition of the 3rd Harry Potter book in which no-nose no-shoes no service comes back early and forces Harry out of the country and then Harry has to juggle new friendships, his fresh out of prison uncle who for some reason keeps mistaking him for everyone but himself, and several new parental figures, all while struggling to cover up the strange happenings as anything but the beginning of a war.
i wrote this while watching the strange shadows outside my house move at 9:51 PM
any British slang i get wrong should be corrected, i don't speak British. also i don't really have an excuse for any inaccuracies because I've read the books 13 times but most of this is just headcanons, especially anything to do with Remus' furry little problem.Bookmarked by chevellerose
