Log Entry: Day 1, 9:36 AM
Location: Unknown. White room?
Hello,
I don’t know if anyone will read this, but I figured I should keep a log of sorts. That must be part of some procedure, right? I don’t know. I can’t remember.
That’s the other reason I’m writing this. At least, even if I somehow lose all my memory again, I won’t have to start from scratch. It’s not as if I had anything better to do. Until someone comes, I’m stuck in this weird hospital room, and it’s been a while.
I originally wanted to make vlogs— there is a lot more information you can share on video— but the room camera seems broken. I mean, it works fine: it sees the walls, it sees any object I throw in front of it, but it doesn’t see me. As if there were some kind of human-filter active on it. I’ll be honest: it’s kind of creeping me out. I wonder if some electromagnetic pulse on the way here damaged the equipment.
I’m getting sidetracked. Sorry. Let me begin with the beginning.
I woke up several hours ago on a strange oval bed mounted to the wall of this room. The clock says it’s been more than six hours, but I only remember two, so I must have dozed off. I checked myself for injuries and found several injection sites. They must be recent, because the wounds haven’t scabbed over yet. Strangely enough, they’re not bleeding, so I decided it wasn’t cause for concern and let them be. I found bigger things to worry about.
Notably the occupants of the two other beds in the room. In that they are dead. More than dead.
They look like mommies.
From what I can gather, before going all trespassed-pharaon style they were a middle aged man and a younger woman. I couldn’t really figure out the cause of death. They also share the same unclosed injection wounds as I do. If I didn’t have it as well, I would have guessed it was a leftover hole from being hooked on some IV lines before they were dead. But I’m not dead, and I have the same. I don’t like where this is going.
Are we some kind of guinea pigs?
No memory miraculously popped up to answer my question, by the way. I’ll have to investigate this the old amnesiac-experiment-victim way.
There is also a creepy robot arm above the beds. It has a terrifying amount of pocky and scary equipment which I’m guessing is the cause for my and my unfortunate companions' opened wounds. It didn’t react to my presence, although that might be because I scuttered far away from it as soon as I could.
It might also be broken like the camera.
It’s the main reason I refuse to return to my bed. I’m even avoiding looking at it. What if whatever was wrong with the scary robot arm fixes itself and it suddenly turns on? I do not want those centipede needle-thingy to come anywhere close to my body. The floor is surprisingly comfy anyway.
I tried to leave the room but the door wouldn't open. There is no apparent lock or control panel: it’s as smooth as a newborn skin. Ugh. Weird comparaison.
I probably need some kind of password or command to open it, but again, I can’t remember. That, or I’m truly some guinea pig trapped into a mad scientist’s experiment and I’m never leaving this room alive.
I tried to scream at the door. It might have verged on the edge of a breakdown for a bit. But no amount of screams or knocks or censured swears made anything react. I also threw in some proper swears in the bunch, because if someone trapped me in this room for the rest of my life they deserve more than a middle-school teacher level of insults. Which is another odd thought. Was I a teacher?
I searched for cameras or sensors in the room, but only found the broken one and this computer in a drawer embedded in the wall. This is making me feel a sense of kinship with the literal guinea pigs who lived their whole lives in a little white room like this one, not having a single clue about what was happening to them or why. I miss the outside world. I miss its wideness, its door-lacking spaces, its colours, its gravity— Is it weird to miss the outside world despite not remembering a single thing about it?
Back to gravity. It’s another mystery for little amnesiac me to solve. There is something wrong with it. Like, very wrong.
At first, I threw some objects. They fell fast. Too fast. Earth should be at 9,8 m/s². From the maths I did, I’m in a room that’s at 1.5 g. What does it tell me? Nothing. Gravity shouldn’t be something that varies.
What puts me off is that I don’t feel like I’m in a strengthened gravity. On the contrary, my body feels very light, almost floaty. As if I was in a very low g environment.
I’m telling myself this is just some leftover drugs in my system. I’m not sure I believe it.
Here is what I’ve figured out for now:
- I can’t remember anything. No seriously, who am I? Can’t I at least have my own damn name?
- I’m in a locked room with two dead people and one offline scary robot arm.
- There is something wrong with the camera.
- There is also something wrong with gravity.
… put like that, this looks uncomfortably close to the beginning of a horror movie.
I’m sure things are not as bad as they look! After all, I’m alive, there haven’t been any weird noise, nothing has attacked me, and I even have this computer to pass time. I’d rather not be stuck to this room though. I’m going to try to open the door again.
