Jest rok 2008, a Draco Malfoy jest tajnym zabójcą. I to legalnie – dostaje za to wypłatę, a Ministerstwo (prawdopodobnie?) wie, że... zabija ludzi. Jest w tym całkiem dobry, pomaga mu w tym wątpliwe poczucie dobra i zła oraz silna potrzeba przetrwania.
W wolnym czasie świetnie udaje, że odpokutowuje swoje winy… głównie pijąc i romansując.
Podwójne życie pomaga Draco stłumić ciągłe poczucie wstydu i winy za lata, kiedy był kompletnym dupkiem. Ale wszystko wywraca się do góry nogami, gdy jego zespół (zabójcy też mogą mieć współpracowników, ok?) ginie na akcji, a on nie. Zawieszony i zmuszony do terapii, Draco traci grunt pod nogami.
Gdy Hermiona Granger ponownie wkracza do gry, ich dawna, pełna nienawiści relacja oparta na docinkach (i okazjonalnych obelgach), nabiera nowego wymiaru.
