Chapter Text
Around three years ago, Jaze had to let go of a few employees (15,037 to be specific), and now they're back to where they can begin a mass hiring process.
- A knock on the door, 1,2,3 -
Baldy, the CEO of Jaze, looked up from his "paperwork," already knowing who it was. "Come in~" He said, before continuing in a whisper, "me."
"Baldy, I believe we need to hire an assistant to assist with hiring." Co-CEO Mikah said. Baldy looked at his Co-CEO, mouth slightly open, watering. "Do you have any candidates yet?"
"No, not yet. I was hoping to get your input before searching." Baldy, running a finger through his tuft of hair, responds, "Good boy. Go ahead, I trust you'll find the right person." With his boss's permission, he planted a kiss on Baldy's five-head and returned to his own office.
When Mikah returned to his office, he turned on his computer to post an ad. He hoped to finish this quickly so as not to have his Husband (oh, and boss) question his competence.
"HELP WANTED, ASSISTANT TO CEO OF JAZE."
Soon, several people responded to his ad, and the first round of hiring began. Round one included 30 candidates; however, only 10 made it past that. He expected the hiring process to go longer than it actually needed to, but most of the candidates were very unqualified. The second he finished the interviews, he began to plan the next round.
A few days later, only seven people had responded, which eased his worry, but he still had to work quickly. To be as efficient as possible, he asked one of his top employees to take half of the interviews for herself. She knew what it meant to be an elite employee of Jaze. He questioned why he didn't ask for her assistance in round one, but only briefly. Once interviewees began to arrive, she let Mikah know.
"Sir, the first candidates are arriving. Do you want me to send someone in?"
"Yes, that would be very helpful, J." He responded, before clearing his desk.
This round went far faster with J's assistance, and realizing his blunder the first time, he quietly thanked J with a $15,000 bonus. After this, only two people stood out as perfect fits: Haze and Tamales. Mikah wasn't sure who to hire, so he decided to take it to the top. When he walked into Baldy's office, he found Baldy waiting.
"M'sir," Baldy said, tipping his comically small fedora. Mikah stopped in his tracks, a little shocked at the sight. "Wher– When did you get a fedora?" Baldy tilts his head, "This morning, do you not like it?" For fear that his husband did not like the fedora, he took it off his head as quickly as he could. "Oh, no, no, it looks good– Wha- What was I doing?.. Oh, I remember, so uh we have two candidates left for the position, and I wanted your input." Mikah laid the two resumes on Baldy's desk. "Who do you think is best?" Baldy scanned over the papers on his desk for a minute, seemingly unsure of who to hire — Haze or Tamales, the final two.
"Hire Haze, and then hire Tamales as his assistant." Mikah was not expecting that, but from the look on Baldy's face, he seemed to know what he was doing. "Assistant to the assistant, never realized that was possible."
After that, Mikah went back to his office to email the newest employees of Jaze.
"Decision made; You're hired! Your first day is on Monday. Please make sure to arrive at or before 6:30 AM. Welcome to Jaze."
