Chapter Text

A group of students were nearing their final exams for the semester, they were in their dorm, studying and preparing for an intense moment that has yet to come.. Though only a few of them actually were paying attention to their studies.

"I give up." Dyso sighed as he flopped down onto his back, right on his bed.

"You're not gonna pass if you keep giving up everytime you don't understand something." Bloom sighed as he leaned against Dyso's bed, he was writing notes from his last class.

Bloom is the type to write notes after every class, so luckily for him, most of the time when he's studying or finishing assignments, it's pretty simple for him.

"Unlike you, he's not that bright and easily lacks motivation." Spwb snickered sarcastically at his own comment, purposely trying to rile up Dyso even more.

"Says the one that procrastinates his assignments till last minute!" Dyso flipped him off.

"Hey, most of the time they give us around a week of two before the deadline, why the rush?" Spwb leaned back against IssaRam's bed.

Issaram smacked the back of Spwb's head, earning an 'oof' from the pink haired guy.

"The time they gave us is for research and ideas for the assignments, manage your time dude.." He sighed exasperatedly.

"Honest i don't really blame Spwb, our schedules are packed from day till night." Divided perked up from his bed, which is the top bunk of his and Issa's bed.

"Alright gangies, a few more minutes before afternoon class sessions will begin, 25 minutes or so, give or take." Nut spoke up, picking up his stuff from his study desk.

"Yeah alright, I gotta go to tech's early, cuz i got picked to help set up the model before class." Bloom spoke up, picking up his stuff from the floor while also giving Dyso a pointed look since they're both going to the same class first.

They were all getting ready, willingly or not, it's not like they have a choice anyways. Just then, an announcement rung throughout the school from the speakers.

*"ATTENTION EVERY ATTENDING STUDENTS, CLASSES WILL BE DISMISSED FOR TODAY!"*

The six of them paused, confused as to why. What's happening? No explanation, nothing! Something must've happened if classes were cancelled, but the announcement didn't say anything.

"Guys.. I got a notif from the official school group, it's a link to a news..?" Nut said, as the rest of them went to check it out, though it was something they did not expect at all..

*"A zombie apocalypse has started, the source coming from Xendavria University as a failed experiment was abandoned and wasn't disposed of, please remain indoors—"*

The six of them looked at their phones in HORROR. What the fuck? A zombie apocalypse? Actually a real zombie apocalypse happening???

"Kim.." Dyso muttered under hus breath, his girlfriend attended that university. He was worried, terrified even, so when he couldn't call her, he texted her.

Direct Message

Dyso: Kim? Are you alright? I saw the news..

Kim: Yeah.. they locked us in the dorms, keeping us away from the main campus, we're gonna be stuck here for a while, I'm with the other girls rn.

Dyso felt an immediate wave of relief washing over him, he locked eyes with Bloom, indicating to him that Ame (who also attended the same university with Kim), was also safe.

"What the actual fuck???" IssaRam whispered in horror.

"Apparently, a few months prior, a group of scientists borrowed their lab to continue with their experiment since their own lab was destroyed by the fire outbreak that happened. It failed, so they had to abandon it, but they forgot to dispose of it first." Nut read it from the website that was linked.

"What? That's just fucking careless! It's costing real people's lives now!" Spwb lashed out, feeling anger at the carelessness.

"Calm down, dude. What's done is done, it already happened. We should focus on staying safe and survive. Our campus is far from civilization, i kinda doubt that those freakies will come here unless someone or something leads them here." Bloom spoke up, putting a hand on Spwb's shoulder, which only earned a groan of frustration from the latter.

Bloom was right, their university was in the middle of a private land, away and isolated from civilization to the point that not many people know of it unless it was sponsored. Basically they could still live here if nothing goes wrong, at least for a few weeks or months at best.

"I honestly doubt that." Dyso spoke up, sitting on the edge of his bed with his arms crossed.

They all locked eyes on Dyso in confusion yet again, Divided raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean??"

"I won't deny that Bloom is right, but it's only a matter of time before things go south. Power and electricity will eventually run out considering the fact that our main power source comes from said city. It won't last long, the moment it runs out, we could only rely on the backup power that the university prepared in advance, but could only last a few months at best before that also runs out. Living here would probably not be a good idea any longer after that." Dyso explained

"Wow, he's actually using his brain for once." Divided snickered, before he let out an 'oof' from Dyso who threw a pillow at him.

"That aside, Dyso is right. It's a matter of time before something goes wrong, and with zombies roaming around mindlessly, they'll make their way here eventually." Nut pondered in consideration.

They all eventually agreed, to be fair the logic is there, at least one that makes sense to them.

"What should we do now?" IssaRam asked

"I don't know, the least we can do is just wait until there's more updates. I'll do some research on the zombies, Dyso you BETTER help me too bro." Bloom spoke, dragging Dyso to their study desk

"WHY ME???"

"Because somehow you out of all people took this situation into consideration."

"WHAT DOES THAT HAVE TO DO WITH ANYTHING??"

"Cuz i can"
