Work Text:
The entity stood at the foot of your bed, shrouded eyes drinking in the sight of your sleeping form. Its gaze lingered on the rise and fall of your chest. Heavy, scratchy blankets eclipsed your frame as you sank into the mattress' depression. The chilly autumn air poured in through a cracked window. Your body shuddered and you rolled onto your side, eyelids fluttering open.
Looking around the room for a brief moment, you let out a groan. Within the darkness, you could make out a tall shadowed figure. You blinked a few more times and rubbed your eyes. As your vision cleared, you looked back to the shadow. The entity vanished.
You shook your head and threw a blanket off of yourself. Rising to your feet, you walked towards the open window. Then, a sudden wetness engulfed your feet. You looked down at a pile of pus. Your half awake mind shook it off, leaving it for tomorrow.
