A wave washes over my face, shocking me back to my immediate situation. I’m alive, somehow, but for how long? As I tread water, my mind races with various explanations as to what the fuck is going on. Is this the afterlife? Some sort of twisted dream? Or something else entirely?
In the distance, I hear what sounds like a yell. Hope blooms in my chest as I turn towards the noise, squinting against the sun's glare on the water. Is that a boat? Hope surges within me as I begin to swim, determined to reach a reprive from my crazy predicament.
Suddenly, something whips past my face and I realize that it had to have come from the ship ahead of me. I turn to look at the object, only to notice the odd skin-like texture of it. Is that... an arm??

Exhale-... And so on and so forth. It was a tedious process that bored MK to sleep. Honestly, he probably would be sleeping if it wasn’t for his mentor's tail that lightly flicked him whenever he began to slouch or yawn. For such an energetic simian that usually got bored of sitting still for too long, he sure had a way of appreciating the art of meditation along with being able to sit still for long enough to accomplish whatever goal it entailed.
Opening one of his brown eyes he glanced at the Monkey King whose eyes were shut as he sat with a straightened posture with his hands positioned over each of his knees. If MK were to look closer he would notice the faint but ever present golden glow that surrounded his mentor. Allowing himself to inspect further he rolled his eyes slightly before he felt another swat of the simian’s tail against his leg.
