Roy was expecting a corpse.
Pupils dilated, blood in his hair and on his face, blood that makes his hair stick to his face. Rage and fear, chest heaving with the effort to breathe. His right arm is gone. His left arm is warm.
Roy’s heart stops.
“Edward?”
Recognition bleeds into Ed’s face.
The arm across his throat is warm and the eyes bearing down at him are molten and feral and alive.
Three months is a long time to be missing.
