Good_or_Decent_Zuko_With_a_dash_of_Iroh_Azula_Gaang
Stories I've found that has Zuko as a main character that's not OOC, has a good plot and doesn't disrespect the characters, might potentially have a side dish of Gaang, Uncle Iroh, or/and Azula.

Summary
“What are you doing here?” Sokka found himself asking. Strawberry fields were often frequented by couples—urgh, even Aang and Katara—because apparently it was romantic or something. The boy, however, was alone.
“Speak more quietly, or she’ll see me.”
“Who?”
“My sister Azula…”
“Azula? Like…the psychopathic daughter of Zeus? That Azula?”
“Yeah, she…”
“Wait…does that mean…”
“Before you ask, no, I’m not Zeus’s son too…”
(As punishment for causing yet another explosion in Hephaestus's Cabin, Sokka must pick strawberries alone and reflect on his behavior. He never imagined he'd find a cute boy hiding. Not that he minded.)

Summary
AU where Zuko realises early into his banishment that Ozai is an abusive bastard who sent him on a wild goose chase. Iroh turns their decommissioned warship into a floating tea shop, and Zuko settles down as a tea server onboard the Jasmine Dragon.
And then, years later, the Avatar emerges from the iceberg.
And then Aang decides that he wants Zuko, the first good firebender he’s met this century, to be his firebending teacher - even though Zuko wants nothing to do with him.
Based on this tumblr post.

“You must know the pain of losing a favored child. By sacrificing your own!”
Slowly, Father bows, until his forehead is touching the ground in respect. In obedience."If the Fire Lord commands it,” Father says, his voice ringing in her ears, “it will be done."
Or: Azulon asks Ozai to kill his daughter instead of his son. Ozai is loyal and obedient. His children, faced with a murderous father, are not.

Summary
“The Spirits’ attention should be treated with caution.” Iroh informed him firmly. “You should do nothing to invite them, but if they have...noticed you, Nephew, you should do nothing to offend them. Treat them with respect, and treat them with suspicion. Even the kindest of Spirits may have an ulterior motive. To wear the face of a Spirit,” Uncle picked up his cup, again, with a small pause to emphasise his point, “it’s inviting trouble.”
Zuko gulped.
Or: Zuko steps foot in a shrine, a midsummer night before Aang wakes up; the events that follow will change the entire war. (It would take a lot for the Prince of Fire Nation to switch sides, but the Spirits are done waiting. Before Aang AU)

Summary
Iroh is tired when he heads to his quarters to write a letter to the rest of his family in the Fire Nation. So tired, in fact, that he accidentally implies in it that the knife is meant for his niece and the doll for his nephew. Azula and Ursa don’t notice the mistake.
Zuko, however, does.

Summary
(And Zuko wants to laugh, he does, because he’s twenty-one, and he's the guardian of a five-year-old sister he didn’t even know existed until his mother died in a car crash, and he's legally responsible for his nineteen-year-old sister who’s been admitted for almost a year of her short life, and rent is due, and his temp job doesn’t pay nearly enough, and he wishes he had someone to help, but he has no clue where Uncle is, and no other adult has ever cared enough to help, and he’s tired.
He’s just so, so, tired.)

Summary
It doesn’t take long for the rumors to start.
The Fire Nation prides itself on its civilization. It isn’t like the other, lesser, nations who throw their children away by sending them into war. Those uncultured and unfeeling savages who are destroying their own future faster than the Fire Nation can save them from themselves.
Every Fire Nation child goes to school. They learn reading and writing, the illustrious history of their country, and what will be expected of them as proper, upstanding Fire Nation citizens. They are to be protected, because children are the future glory of the nation.
The crown prince is thirteen when his father burns his face in front of an audience of hundreds.
