Summary
Bilbo's hands gripped Thorin's wrists, the only thing stopping him from plummeting to the ground. Thorin glared at him, ready to drop the hobbit.
A small voice, a remnant of him still left was repulsed at the thought of killing Bilbo, but the hurt and anger and betrayal snapped that small part of him, and he let go of the hobbit.
He fell from the gates, his body arching towards the stone as time seemed to slow. Several of the dwarrow cried out.
With a sickening crunch Bilbo hit the stone, blood pooling from his head.
It was if a bucket of water had been thrown over Thorin's head as with a snap the dragon sickness vanished. But it was too late.

Summary
"What are you doing out here?" Bilbo asked as he moved to stand next to Thorin, who's gaze has not moved from the stars.
Thorin smiled softly. "I'm naming the stars after people I love." He replied.
Damm it. It was hopeless. Bilbo was so hopelessly in love.

Summary
Thorin was dead.
He had died. On a lake of ice, cold and full of pain. And something had been shining above him, glinting in the sun. Tears.
Tears glistened on Bilbo's face as they dripped down the hobbit's nose and Thorin let out a final breath and closed his eyes. He slipped into darkness, like he was falling asleep and the cold seeped from his bones, dragging the aching pain with it.
And then he woke up. And was decidedly not dead.

Summary
They looked up in unison to see Bilbo, deep in conversation with Elrond.
She too was taller, her hair shining a brighter gold and her power visible from her. A crown of flowers decorated her head, and her robes were greens and reds. On her left hand, a ring with dark blue stones was being twisted round her ring finger.
"Remind, what are you the deity of?" Elrond was asking as they approached the table.
Bilbo's smile grew. "Life," she answered. "In fact, it used to be wherever I walked, flowers and trees would spring up under my feet. I spoiled many halls and floors by doing that," she told him, laughing lightly.
"But not anymore?" Elrond glanced back at the stone floor behind them, void of plant life.
Bilbo shook her head. "No, not since I married. I suppose we balanced each other out."

"Do hobbits not have Ones then?" Fíli asked curious.
"Uh, no we don't." Bilbo told him truthfully.
"That's sad," Kíli said.
"Well, we have soulmates." Bilbo smiled. "And heart tattoos, which I'm sure you know of."
"Heart tattoos?" Ori joined in the conversation.
"What?" Bilbo looked stricken. "You don't have heart tattoos?"

Summary
The hobbit finally stepped forward into Thorin’s view, and her eyes were immediately drawn to a shining glint of metal.
The hobbit was wearing a simple leather cord round her neck, and strung through it was a ring. It was a bright silver, and Thorin immediately recognised it.
Her eyes darted to the hobbit’s face as she realised the laughter had abruptly stopped. Staring back at her with utter disbelief and shock was a female hobbit, with warm hazel eyes and amber hair.
“Sweet Yavannah,” the hobbit muttered.

Summary
Bilbo let out a choked sob. "We were fighting, me and Thor-" His voice caught, and several more tears ran down his cheeks. "Me and Thorin. And there was a pause, and he..."
"What?" Kíli asked. "He what?"
"He turned to me." Bilbo very slowly lowered his right hand, and slowly opened his fingers. "He knelt to the ground," his fingers opened fully to reveal Thorin's bead, his most important one- the one he would keep until he found and proposed to his One.
