Summary
After Wukong's betrayal Macaque is left heart broken and Azure doesn't know what to feel. So when he's lead to believe the shadow monkey held a deep caring for their brotherhood, his compassion, strength and ambition make the lion direct all of the admiration once aimed at the Monkey King into him.
Slowly, over time, that admiration grows into something more and Azure finds himself falling in love with Macaque. When, one night, the shadow is just desperate enough for Azure to believe his feelings are reciprocated.
Deep down both Azure and Macaque still long for Wukong's love, but they find solace in each other's embrace instead.
