Summary
Tugging on the hand wrapped around his, Zoro waits until Luffy glances in his direction.
“Where are we going?” he asks. He is tired and would rather avoid exerting his body too much. His initial plan was to take a nap on the deck but then, he decided to find a quiet spot somewhere on the island. His recovery leaves him more exhausted than usual so he spends most of his time sleeping. Chopper prohibited any harsh training, leaving him with nothing to do except resting. It makes him feel useless. At least Luffy joins him while he naps, which feels nice.
“Dunno,” Luffy mumbles. “I just wanted to spend some time with Zoro.”
“We always spend time together.”
There is a pause before Luffy stops walking, Zoro following right behind. “Alone.”

“Can’t you go bother someone else?” Zoro asks, although he already knows the answer to his question. The moment he decided to come down was the authorisation Luffy needed to bother him.
“I like being with Zoro the most.”
Chuckling, Zoro pushes Luffy’s hat down onto his face. “You say that to everyone.”

“To be honest,” Torao starts, making Zoro look up. He didn’t expect him to start a conversation since they tend to keep to themselves when it’s only the two of them, “I believed you would be the hardest member to convince about the alliance.”
“Why?”
“Nami-ya and Nose-ya kept muttering to each other that if you were against it, then Straw Hat-ya could be convinced the refuse the alliance.”
Zoro blinks. “Nose-ya?” he asks while trying to figure out who Torao is referring to.

“Do you want to talk about it?” Zoro asks once he is sure that Luffy calmed down.
Luffy shakes his head in disagreement while muttering a quiet, “No.” He leaves a light kiss on the back of Zoro’s neck. Zoro can’t see him but knows he must be smiling. Luffy always does, even when in pain. “This is enough.”

Not wanting to be caught in her game, Zoro closes his eye again, this time for good. She’ll leave him alone once she gets tired of being ignored. After all the teasing he went through when she found out about Luffy and him, Zoro can admit with pride that he developed an immunity to most of her nonsense.
“You are,” she gasps. “Here I thought you didn’t even know what jealousy is.”
“Fuck off Nami.”

“Bro that’s… that’s super impossible,” Robot-ya answers almost right away while looking at him straight in the eyes. “Never get too close to Zoro-bro when he is in that mood. Even more when it’s about Luffy.”
Nose-ya lets out a nervous laugh. “Sorry, I’m too scared. I don’t want him to cut me down or worse, the submarine which would kill us all.”
“Excuse-me? Aren’t you his crewmates?” Or as Straw Hat-ya loves to say, his nakama.

Coming to a sudden realisation, Zoro blinks as he finishes the content of his beer. “You do know that Luffy is nineteen, right?”
“He’s what now?” Torao sounds taken aback enough by this new piece of information to get a short laugh out of Zoro. “It does explain a lot of things about him. Like his recklessness.”
“You think Luffy won’t be as crazy as he is now in a decade or two?”
Torao lets out the heaviest sigh Zoro ever heard yet while rubbing his face with one hand. “I can only hope.”

Zoro-ya blinks at him a few times before averting his gaze. He reaches for his golden earrings with his fingers, a nervous habit that Law recently noticed. “I… I like you?” he tries, sounding rather uncertain.

He opens his eyes as he feels two arms wrap around his waist.
“What are you doing?” The gesture itself surprises him because whatever vague relationship they have hasn’t been on-going long enough for Law to think Zoro-ya would be comfortable with public display of affection. Law could teleport them out of sight, mostly because he isn’t comfortable with being openly affectionate, but decides otherwise.
“Trying to win you over,” Zoro-ya answers.
The hint of mischief startles Law – too similar to the one usually seen in Nico-ya’s gaze when she is about to pull a prank on her latest victim – and he frowns. “This won’t work on me either.” He isn’t planning to fall for anything the Straw Hats might use to “win him over” after being screwed over countless time in however long this alliance has been going on for.
