The Apocalypsis Saga begins 5 years after Meteorfall with Sephiroth's resurrection, and Act I: Ruination follows the Turks and Avalanche as they work to stop him and his remnants from destroying Gaia. Act II: Recrudescence picks up immediately where Ruination leaves off to follow the first act's survivors in a mostly fluff/slice-of-life piece as they come to terms with the outcome of the final battle and their new futures. Toward the end of this act an old enemy reemerges, and Act III: Revolution will chronicle the fight to save a dying world once again. The series will conclude with Act IV: Repose, another fluff/slice-of-life piece that serves as an "extended epilogue" showcasing the day-to-day lives of those who survive to the end of Revolution. There will also be a "Special Episode" released as a supplement to Act III, the title/plot of which is being kept under wraps to avoid spoilers.

While the series primarily follows the continuity of the original game and it's spinoffs, some elements of the Remake Trilogy will be reflected if they can also work in the original continuity (things like getting Cloud's dress via the dancing mini game versus the original fetch quest, Rude's boss fight against Aerith and Cloud, how the party met Nanaki, etc).

Disclaimer: The author is trying to stick to canon as much as possible, however, there may be some unavoidable deviations. This will mostly apply to canon established after the author began writing the series in late summer 2020 (ex: parts of Sephiroth's youth as depicted in Ever Crisis, released in September 2023, may be changed or ignored entirely). The author may also take occasional liberties with existing canon if there are contradictions, plot holes, missing/unknown details about events, etc.

Act I has been completed and posted in its entirety as of 3 January 2025. Act II is underway as of 26 December 2025. Acts III, and IV are currently being written.

Due to the anticipated lengths of Act II and Act III, the author has decided to split them into “Sectors” and “Seasons” so that hiatuses will be more frequent but shorter in length. The author will update the current status of each act below on a weekly basis (Note: “Written” percentage is based on how much time has elapsed in the narrative and, since some narrative days will occur across multiple chapters, may not move for weeks at a time; word/page/chapter counts are more visible indicators of progress). Some weeks will show less progress than others (thanks to life, the universe, and everything), but rest assured that they are getting there!

Three additional acts are in the early planning stages and may or may not be written (if the author decides they'll be part of the series, they'll be moved to the above list):
Act 0.5: Restriction, told in the style of a police/crime drama (think shows like Law & Order, Chicago PD, NCIS, etc), would follow Reno and Rude from their recruitments as Turks to the start of Act I;
Act V: Resurgence would feature the children of Avalanche and the Turks as they go on their own adventure;
Act XXX: Risque would showcase fully detailed smut scenes that are otherwise only implied/minimally portrayed within the main series.

*Note about Act 0: This act serves as a placeholder for flashbacks that will later be inserted into Act III. The posting of Act 0 as its own entry will only occur if there are leftover flashbacks that can't be squeezed into the main series, or any flashbacks have to be significantly shortened in order to fit in Act III.
