Professor Kukui hasn't done anything wrong yet, and he seems nice. And pikapi likes going to school, it knows he didn't before now. And this school does seem like fun, not like the other pokemon schools they've been to, all about facts and figures. This one seems to truly take in the wide scope that is battling. With actual classes about practical battling, and not one person has told Ash that he's battling wrong, like many other places. They all seem to think Ash battles, and is, strange, but he gets results so no one cares.
And alola is so warm, and happy. The people seem genuinely nice, and Pikachu and Ash fit in perfectly in the warmth that is alola. If Pikachu didn't know better he would have assumed Ash was from alola, considering how their raising of pokemon is so similar to Ash, nearly opposite of Kanto’s attitude.
Not one person has asked about why Pikachu is not in a pokeball! And that's because pokemon are usually let out of their pokeball at all times!
Ash is judged a lot less here, and Pikachu is glad for it.or

Because that's who Ash is.
Kind, courageous, lively.
He's seen it in the way Ash helps abandoned Pokemon. From Bulbasaur to Charmander, to Froakie, heck, even pikachu itself.
Pikachu has seen the way they lashed out at Ash, and he just got up with a smile. That's Ash's greatest strength.
So why isn't he doing that now?
Why isn't he getting up, saving the world, and hugging pikachu tightly?
Pikachu lets a few tears escape. He misses Ash.
He'll never forget Ash.
If Ash goes out, pikachu goes out. That's the way it always will be.Series

How did it fall for such a stupid ruse? He's supposed to be the smarter one.
Instead, pikachu trusted someone it shouldn't have, and now Pikachu and Ash were stuck in this situation.

They were attacking the boy. Good, a part of Pikachu snarls, if they focus on him they won't focus on Pikachu. (Part of Pikachu rages at their attacking. It isn't sure why, it doesn't know the boy, and Pikachu certainly doesn't like humans.)
Pikachu stands up, snarling at the alakazam who drifts closer, but quickly backs away.
Pikachu nearly falls back down, feeling fatigued and a little far away from itself, but it forces itself to move forward. From its new position it can see the boy's face, he's trying to guard himself from the attackers but he's not doing very well. His eyes lock with Pikachu and he looks like he's about to plead for Pikachu to jump in, ( Pikachu almost does ) Pikachu does the opposite, snarling at the human in disgust before bolting away, trying to get as far away from the humans as it can. Even if a part of Pikachu aches at the thought, Pikachu doesn't know why it is, but it is.
But before Pikachu can make it fully away from the humans it comes across a hat.or
Pikachu is hit with amnesia, but even having no memories couldnt erase the bond between pikachu and ash.Series

Sometimes Pikachu doesn't feel like a very good trained pokemon.
Trained pokemon are supposed to listen, and even now Pikachu doesn't totally listen to Ash all of the time. Trained pokemon are supposed to keep an eye on their trainers, not get distracted and stop focusing on them.
Trained pokemon aren't supposed to let their trainers get hurt.
Which Pikachu was obviously terrible at doing, considering how it's trainer was now, curled up on his sleeping bag, face so red from a fever at his cheeks look as red as Pikachus, he keeps throwing up and Pikachu is surprised there's anything left in his stomach.or

Summary
Mandatory volunteer hours sounded stupid to Clemont. Weren't people supposed to volunteer not for credit or reward. Making it mandatory completely threw out the notion of volunteering. Mandatory volunteering is an oxymoron and stupid to Clemont.
Totally not because Clemont would rather keep his head down and do his own thing until he graduates this place and could finally head to college.
He needed to get his hours finished this semester so he could take the robotics course he wanted to take next semester. Unfortunately Clemont really didn't want to do this whole volunteering thing.
Couldn't he just create an invention or something instead of volunteering? Couldn't he do something more productive with his time instead of doing some boring job that wouldn't get him any closer to college so he could become an engineer.
He's not even getting paid for it!
With a sigh, Clemont circles his least worst option. Professor Oak's Ranch.or
Clemont is forced to volunteer at Professor Oak's Ranch, which leads him to becoming friends with Ash, the sports scholarship transfer student. Who also happens to train animals. This leads Clemont to gaining a group of friends, a new hobby, and maybe a crush.Series
