Summary
Akaashi Keiji is many things: hard-working, meticulous, observant. He is also deeply repressed, spending long hours managing the emotions of others to avoid dealing with his own wounded subconscious. He has mastered the ability to channel any deviations in that strict focus into his job unless, of course, he's sleeping– then, once again he is plagued by the nightmares that have followed him since childhood. When circumstances at the restaurant he manages force him to hire a new chef, this sudden addition in his life begins to stir up sediment he's spent years burying. Because while Bokuto is a positive force that pulls him in uncontrollably, he is also an unpredictable mystery and a large one at that.
Narration is overall heavily influenced by Akaashi's shuttered mental state due to past trauma and his perception of Bokuto, which he is quick to realize is abnormal but not for the right reasons. Next update 8/31/26

And she lifted her up. High, as if she weighed nothing, as if Ymir were nothing more than a doll to her. “I'm a knight! Whoo-hoo!" rejoiced the peasant girl, before throwing Ymir into the air. And the girl screamed, of course, horrified, terrified beyond measure, but when she fell, she fell right into Eleonore's strong working arms. She blinked in disbelief, but Eleonore just smiled at her, tenderly. “And yer my princess, aight?”
Despite it all, her heart still pounding in her chest and ears, her knees shaking, this strange feeling in the back of her head, Ymir found herself smiling back. She felt so light in the commoner girl's arms. “I...am your princess...” she muttered, initially unconvinced, but she liked how it sounded coming from Eleonore’s mouth, so she tried it again. “And...you're my knight...yes...”
