Summary
After the events at Ba Sing Se, the Avatar falls into a coma. Katara retreats with him to the Eastern Air Temple while Sokka returns to the battle field with his father and fellow Water Tribe members. Years pass without any signs of the Avatar awakening, and the war drags on. Sokka and his unit are caught impersonating Fire Nation troops after pirating a warship, leading to their capture and transport to a high security prison on the outskirts of the Fire Nation. Even after the dousing of the fire and dismissal of his comrades, the tale continues to unfurl within his mind.

Silco's... not a good parent. As much as he loves his daughter, he has a few flaws when it comes to her. He can even explain giving her to the Enforcers in exchange for Zaun - after all, they've given their word that Jinx is not to be harmed.
Ekko, meanwhile, went to the bridge upon overhearing the Enforcers' plans to capture Jinx on their radios - she's too far gone, and as the last person who knew Powder as well as the leader of the Firelights, it's his job to put her down.
But after rescuing her instead upon realizing Jinx is still at least a little Powder, when he learns that 'Jinx' the persona isn't real but instead a defense mechanism, upon learning about the drugs in her system and the pain and fear inflicted on her, he insists she can be saved.
And thus begins the rest of her life.
