“That’s the thing, though.” Halilintar sat back down, arms crossed to mirror the younger’s movement. “You weren’t just devastated- you were ruined.” He chewed his lip. “It’s like... you were ready to throw us both into space out of utter despair. For a time, I was afraid you’d actually do it.”
“I wouldn’t,” Gempa reasoned. “I wouldn’t have. You know that, don’t you?”
The eldest didn’t respond immediately. Instead, the inquisitive look on his face was telltale enough. I know, Gempa. I know very well. Which is why I think you would give yourself to the vast expanse of space for the sake of silencing your guilt.
