Summary
Generations change as time flows, so are the days of yore lost in the memories of those passed. In an age where the soul of Rex Lapis has finally come to rest, the mortal Zhongli occasionally takes an old friend through the streets of Liyue, walking by the lives of the people the god himself was said to walk alongside for the past three millennia.
They overhear the common folk’s daily conversations, and find that the legends people speak of these days have been twisted through time. The two find themselves partaking in some debates about the truth of the long lost past.
(And, well, if Zhongli happens to reveal a truth or two regarding his feelings for a certain god, perhaps it will only fall upon the ears of the one who has been by his side and known him for as long as he lived. But perhaps, he is all who matters anyway.)

Summary
In fact, Sucrose does own a logbook of sorts, to note her observations of the people around her. Except, it’s a little different—not so structured as experimental logbooks are, with defined variables and procedures and detailed methodologies that are unlikely to be repeated on a different day. They’re simply personal recounts of any events she encounters with a certain person, which she can later go through to see if there’s any trend or recurring variable she can take note of that should help her understand, and subsequently, treat that person a little better.
Essentially, a diary. Sucrose has a little diary with all these small yet terrifying moments, moments that slowly make or break a relationship, moments where she gets another opportunity to learn about others and about herself.

Summary
Every year, on this particular day, the first thing Neuvillette would do is greet the Hydro Archon a happy birthday. He did it only because he wished to get back to work as soon as possible, and Furina would always ask, without fail: “Not taking today off, either?” She never needed to hear his answer.
This year, on this particular day, Neuvillette decides to take time off work. “It’s just as it is—I thought it only proper to commemorate the Hydro Archon’s existence.”
The question lingers like the annoying Mitachurl: why only start now? Why never, not once, in the past five centuries where the Hydro Archon still very much existed?
(Must one's life only be commemorated upon death?)

Summary
“Next time I see you, I want to hear at least five stories—demons or humans, dead or alive, yours or not—anything will do.”
“Five? I fear you overestimate the diversity of my days,” Xiao sighed.
“I should hope it becomes a wake-up call for you, if anything.”
(Xiao, and these fleeting moments.)

Summary
It doesn't last long. The walls of the cave begin to tremble. Blades of grass shivering, the tree's bark crumbling into chips, fading away into the wind. The leaves fly all over the realm, obscuring her vision. The colors before her no longer make sense, but they are swirling, twinkling, flickering—bright, dark, vivid and dull.
She does not question it. She knows perfectly well what is happening.
She has always known every single corner of her thoughts, every single argument to make against it. She has always known the reason for her every act, her every thought, her every response.
She simply dislikes swallowing the bitter pill.
Still a child, is she not?
(She thinks, and thinks, even though she knows the answer to everything. Even though she knows this, in the end, is all for nothing.)

Summary
The invitation he sent out last was largely a matter of formality, on Neuvillette’s part. It wouldn’t be reasonable to exclude her from a gathering of close acquaintances, not when they’ve known each other for the longest time; even less so when one considers the matter of his calling, the birth of his existence’s purpose. No matter how things stand between them at present or how she would’ve felt about coming to such an intimate gathering, extending that hand was the bare minimum, a show of rightful respect.
When Furina shows up to the gathering, bottled spring water from the far north in tow, Neuvillette assumes this, too, must be a reciprocation of that respect. “Thank you for inviting me,” is the first thing she says, fashionably late to the function. Handing him her gift, Furina echoes: “A happiest birthday to you, Neuvillette.”
(They dance on the surface with formality and propriety as reasons, burying deep all that is ancient, all that is raw and ugly.)
