Summary
For now, Jisung comes and goes as he pleases, his new backpack slung over one shoulder, his old skateboard in hand or underfoot. When Chan is home, he greets him with a grunt or a nod. When Chan’s the one coming home, there’s usually no greeting at all because Jisung’s holed up in his bedroom more often than not. They eat dinner together if they’re both home, and if Jisung won’t be there for it, he has to let Chan know before five, so he won’t make or bring too much.
It works. They work. Maybe Jisung’s not talking about his feelings or maybe he’s not processing everything as he should be, but he’s got a roof above his head, he’s got three good meals a day and he’s got a safe place to come home to. It’s a good start, Chan thinks. It’s more than he used to have.

Summary
“So,” his best friend says eventually, and Jisung breathes out a small smile, because just hearing Felix’s voice, hearing that lilt to it that means he’s going to ask a personal question is enough to already brighten his spirits. Felix is joy personified, one of the main reasons he is still alive to this day. “You and Minho hyung…”
There’s no further words but the question and the implication is clear. Jisung laughs softly, trying his best not to move too much. “No,” he says, barely manages to keep from shaking his head. “No, it’s not like that.”
“It’s not? Not even a little?”

Summary
When he pulls open the door, mouth already open to scold Jisung for overusing his doorbell, he falters at the sight of someone distinctly not Jisung.
“Hi,” the boy says, smile bright but nervous, his eyes flicking over Minho’s features immediately in a bid to figure him out. “This is going to sound really crazy and you probably have no idea who I am, but–”
“Jeongin,” he interrupts the boy, a slight furrow in his brow. “You’re Yang Jeongin.”

“You’re a bleeding heart and you love those boys like nothing else,” Changbin fills in his silence for him and Chan looks up with guilty eyes and a heart full of sorrow.
“Is that really so bad?” He asks, promptly causing Changbin’s softened features to shift into shocked disbelief.
“Not at all, hyung,” he protests immediately, fingers tightening their hold on Chan’s shoulder again. “It’s wonderful. You’re wonderful. They couldn’t have been luckier to have someone like you taking care of them.”
