“It’s three in the damn morning!” She slapped the sensor to open the door. “I swear to robo-god, the world better be ending again—”
Uzi cut off and blinked at Tessa. Tessa, fist still raised, blinked back.
“What,” Uzi said with slightly less outrage.
“I’m sorry it’s late,” Tessa rasped. “But—can I see N, please.”
Uzi wasn’t exactly an expert on human expressions, but even she could see that Tessa’s eyes were haunted.
