“Lura?” I ask shakily, my voice coated in tears and hope.
At that moment she stirs and looks up at me and for a moment she looks confused, and I think that she won’t remember me or recognize me. But then I see the moment it hits for her and her eyes swell with tears.
“Lance?” Her voice is barely above a whisper, her voice broken and shaky like I know mine sounds.
“Hey ‘Lura” I say in Altean so she knows it’s me and when she breaks into sobs I crush her into a hug and cry with her.

“Keith?”
My shaky voice echoes through the quiet cell and I know it wakes something in him and I see every single emotion pass over his face.
At that moment I saw the boy that had a room right next to mine just so we could get midnight snacks and stay up talking, the boy that would laugh with me for hours about nothing.
But then I see his face harden. His face close up, those beautiful eyes going emotionless again, and his grip on his knife tightening.
At that moment I didn't see the boy from a minute ago.
No this is the boy that left, packed up his stuff from his room and left when things got too hard

I freeze and my body feels like it’s engulfed in rage.
“How dare you, how dare you bring him up”
I turn away immediately and start fuming out the door. How dare she bring up the thing that has haunted every single one of my nightmares, my dreams. And right when i make it too the door i can barley hear her as she whispers-
“He was my brother too you know”
I can feel the hurt and grief in her voice that I know is covering every pore on my face.
