Summary
At sixteen, Valerie Sokolov has one goal: Olympic gold. Every breath, every meal, every fall-controlled, perfected, repeated until there’s nothing left but the ice beneath her blades. It’s the only world she’s ever known, built by her mother’s expectations and her own fear of being ordinary.
After collapsing during training, Valerie’s life fractures. Her coach calls for help, and she wakes in a hospital bed and no longer under her mothers care. Instead she is placed with Hizashi and Aizawa, two adults who came into life one coincidence after another. Coincidences that can all lead back to her childhood best friends, Bakugou, who would never admit that he worried about her, and Midoriya who's sudden quirk remains a mystery to even Bakugou and Valerie.
Living with them, Valerie finds a warmth she’s never known, and a quiet pull toward the boy who’s always burned too bright beside her. But with the Olympics closing in, her rival chasing headlines, and her mother’s voice still echoing in her mind, Valerie must decide if perfection is worth the pieces she’ll lose to keep it.
