Summary
Teshima knew how rare it was to find your soulmate early in life, so he was excited to see what his first words would be. Obviously, he was confused when fate gave him a symbol. A stupid, plain black question mark. He cursed fate and hated destiny for giving him nothing real, no words he could listen for, no phrase he could memorize and hold within his heart. While his friends got words and phrases and sayings, all he had was a big, bold, black question mark. He even began to believe he had no soulmate, that the question mark was just there to mock him of his loneliness. To make things even more confusing, he can't figure out WHY his heart jolts and his stomach overturns at the sight of the amber eyed boy in his cycling club, the silent Aoyagi Hajime.
He also can't understand why Tadokoro is grinning like he knows something important, or why Aoyagi is avoiding him like he's the plague.
{In which Teshima is really, really confused, Tadokoro is acting smug and all knowing, and Aoyagi doesn't like to be around cheerful, chatty people. For Junta, though, he's willing to make an exception.}Series

Summary
Ever since he was ten years old, Imaizumi had known that he'd grow to be particularly tall, or that his soul mate would be particularly short. Perhaps that, or his soul mate was simply an average sized person who enjoyed joking around before introductions were had? Another thing, how exactly was this entire 'soul words' thing supposed to go? Did he cry? Get excited? Start asking questions? Start making out? He really had no clue. Honestly, cycling was way more interesting then these words written in his soul mates chicken scratch hand writing on his wrist. Besides, who needed a soul mate to slow them down, anyway? No point to it. Soul mate or no soul mate, as long as he had his bike, he was happy. Case in point, he wasn't looking forward to it.
That is, until this red head manages to flip his perspective, that is.
{In which Imaizumi denies his interest in soul mates, Naruko prefers insults to introductions, Teshima is the ultimate love counselor, and Tadokoro scars all his underclassmen for life.}Series

Not a disinterested, sarcastic screw up who was always left home alone. Really, though, how could he not be upset?
After all, how can the first thing your soulmate says be a profession of hate?
{In which Makishima is depressed over his soul words, Tadokoro's soul mate is apparently obsessed with his own abs, Kinjou is forever wearing his poker face, and Toudou winds up crashing into a bush.}Series

Summary
Yamaguchi has always panicked and wondered and wished about all the different things his soulmate could be. As he got closer to 16 years old, he figured he'd likely wind up with a platonic, one way soul mark for Tsukishima. He was the only person who ever put up with his constant nervous bumbling. Even as midnight approaches on his sixteenth birthday, he knows it's unlikely that he'll get a romantic soul mark at all.
Even if he does, it can't be worse then Tsukishima's, because his soulmate apparently wants to fight him over a pastry.
{In which Yamaguchi is way to fast to panic, Tsukishima is bitter with life, Kuroo challenges random strangers for their baked goods, and Kenma really just generally wishes talking to people was as easy as texting was.}Series

Summary
Kuroko's family didn't have soul marks. No words. No symbols. Nothing.
It was a fact of life, something Tetsuya had known since he was a child. It was rather ironic, seeing as he always moved unseen and unnoticed through life. With no one waiting to hear their words from his lips, it was far easier to go along with his usual day, not having to think about the nerves most people had on their sixteen birthdays.
Unfortunately, or perhaps, fortunately, for him though, fate had different plans.
{In which Kuroko is a glass half empty person, Kagami is always late, Kiyoshi is the number one senpai, and Izuki's birthday gift is just another pun book.}Series

Summary
Wendy had only gotten her soul words a few months ago. She was supposed to have years yet to daydream about her special someone. She wasn't supposed to arrive at her new guild, be welcomed by all, and have a six year old boy race up to her, and say her special someones words. She wasn't supposed to be soul mates with a six year old.
Fate had to have messed up somewhere.
Romeo didn't understand it at first, why Wendy avoided him all that first day. When he asked his father about it, he revealed why those words had suddenly inked their way in years early. Wendy Marvell was beautiful, she was kind and sweet and he absolutely adored her. Loved her, though? He wasn't even sure what that was supposed to mean.
Seven years later, he's sure that falling in love with someone long dead should be impossible. News flash, it's not.
{In which Romeo is innocent to the ideas of love, Wendy freaks out with very good reason, Mira is the leader of the comforting squad, and Macao needs to do some serious soul searching.}Series

Summary
En was enough of a dreamer to enjoy the idea of soulmates. That one person with the key to unlock your heart. The first phrase your soulmate ever said to you became etched permanently into your wrist on the midnight of your sixteenth birthday.
The sandy haired boy had long since bypassed that, now a barista working part time while pursuing a psychology major. Though, with this stupid bracelet still superglued to his wrist, the power of love wasn't really something he wanted to be thinking about. He'd rather erase that entire fiasco from his mind. So here he was, working in a coffee shop next to a florist. Perhaps if he were ever desperate enough, he'd stop in and buy a bouquet of daisies, then wear one behind his ear?
Otherwise, he didn't really make a habit of braiding flowers into his hair.
{In which Yumoto calls En for soulmate advice, which makes no sense since he has Ryuu's number, Atsushi caves way to easily, everyone needs to pray for Akoya, Io is always there to catch Ryuu, both figuratively and literally, Wombat just loves love in general, and Arima has the most regrettable soulmate words on the planet.}Series

Summary
Bokuto reminded Akaashi of a tidal wave. Crashing into his life, and banishing the silence that once wrapped around him like a chain. Sending him tumbling head over heels, and washing all hints of loneliness from his life.
Akaashi was in every way the mark that covered Bokuto's skin, though at their first meeting, it wasn't that obvious, he had known ever since that he'd never leave his soul mates side.
{In which Akaashi is mute, Bokuto is hyper and happy to be alive, Kuroo is the number 1 bro, Kenma can't do all nighters, and Tsukki doesn't even appear, yet he still manages to be a total asshole.}Series

Summary
Izumida Touchirou has always been an extremely hard worker. No one ever knew, but it's because he feels inadequate compared to his extremely talented friends and upperclassmen. His best friend could play any sport he wanted and be a first stringer within a week, and most of his upperclassmen were hailed as champions. Even the bumbling Ashikiba Takuto was more talented then he was. This was why he trained himself and his muscles so hard each day, and kept himself rigidly in check, health wise. Perhaps this had something to do with his late soul words? In the world as he knows it, everyone gets their soul words by at least their first year of high school, if not sooner. So why was he here right now, with two blank wrists? And if fate truly intended for him to be alone, then that was all the more reason to work harder, to prove himself to everyone else. However, how is he supposed to prove his worth to himself?
{In which Izumida is insecure and uptight, Kuroda tries and fails but is a good friend, Ashikiba is clueless, and Izumida is a complete health freak. Luckily for him, his soulmate is set to inherit the best, most sugary confectionary bakery in Chiba, and is all set to patch up his scrapes on the ride there.}Series

Summary
He didn't ask for this.
Tsukki just wanted a platonic soul bond with Yamaguchi or something.
Even when this became impossible, he still just hoped for a relaxed, easy to recognize soul mate mark, or maybe even no words at all. It wouldn't have bothered him.
So naturally, the universe just hates him so much that it gave him three. Not one, not two, but three. You know, two plus one? Negative four plus positive seven? The square root of nine? Thirty six divided by twelve? Three times one? I think you get the idea.
And he definitely didn't ask to get run over by a dog.
{In which Yamaguchi is the ultimate optimist, the universe hates Tsukki, Kuroo begrudgingly has a dog, Akaashi is absolutely done, Bokuto is just way to pure for this world, and Ace the great pyrenees is the real MVP}Series

Summary
Daishou wasn't sure if he even wanted to meet his soulmate at this point.
Everyone in the world knew that any permanent mark on your skin would transfer to your soulmate, and your soulmate would feel all of your pain.
So WHY did his soulmate feel the need to keep sticking holes in their shared body, and inking their shared skin? You'd think they'd at least wait until they MET before getting something as serious as a tattoo! And a big one at that! Daishou had been very considerate, he'd barely gotten even a single major scar since he didn't want to endanger his soulmate (or himself, let's be honest) but whoever was on the other end of this arrangement clearly didn't share the same sentiment. Or at the very least, they didn't even think he was still around.
{In which Daishou is pissed because he keeps getting random piercings and tattoos he didn't ask for, Terushima is a little depressed and a little to fast to jump to conclusions, valuable questions between soulmates are asked, and both of them just need to put their god damned shirts back on}Series

Summary
Morisuke was split between thinking his soulmate was painfully shy, or just straight-up dead, for most of his life. When he finally did receive some form of pain and an ensuing message from them, he didn't expect it to be in a foreign alphabet that he could only vaguely recognize and had no chance of reading. Considering his native tongue was Japanese, they were definitely in for some communication boundaries, but hey, in the long run, even if he didn't know it at the time, it would all be worth it.
{In which Lev is painfully nervous, Yaku is frustrated and maybe a little too aggressive, Kuroo doesn't know the meaning of personal space, and all of them really need to enroll in a couple of modern language courses.}Series

Summary
Hitoka had daydreams of fairytale moonlit run-ins with attractive strangers at just the right moment to notice the words in faded ink upon the skin of the other when she thought of her soulmate. Of course, in the real world, things couldn't be so storybook perfect. Perhaps, though, with some purple swirls and reassuring words, she can find something in the mundane that would be just as good, if not better.
{In which Hitoka blanks out around beautiful strangers, Kiyoko is just way too soft for this world, and first meetings wind up being far too coincidental, but hey, maybe that's just how it was meant to be.}Series

Summary
Considering all things, Kuroo Tetsurou was sitting pretty.
Sure, he hadn't met his soulmate yet, and he was 18, so most of the people he knew had met theirs by now, but that didn't bother him.
It didn't strike anything when he saw Lev looking at Yaku with those stupid puppy love eyes, or the way Bokuto was so excessively happy whenever Akaashi was around. It was fine, he was fine, and he didn't have any issues with it.
Ok.
That was a lie.
But to contemplate further tended to get him depressed, so he tried to brush those things aside. He might be a third-year, but he wasn't an old man. He'd meet his soulmate sooner or later.
Accidentally body-slamming them wasn't part of the plan, but then, fate had its way to get things done, so he supposed he shouldn't worry about it.
{In which Kuroo is a bit too lost in his thoughts, Tsukishima didn't ask for any of this, pain is the only thing reaching through their thick skulls, and bruises may heal, but these feelings sure as hell aren't going away}Series
