Summary
“Hey, I’m going to bed. Don’t stay up too late, okay?” He rested a hand on her shoulder to make sure she heard, and felt distantly proud that she didn’t even flinch at his approach like she’d used to.
“Okay. Night, mom.” She mumbled, not even glancing up at him as her fingers flew across the keyboard.
Leon paused. It (somehow) wasn’t the first time she’d called him that, the first time being whilst in the midst of a panic attack so severe that she’d fainted, but he hadn’t brought it up since and she didn’t seem to remember.
“… Night, kid.” He squeezed her shoulder before heading off, hearing the frantic typing pause for a second before he just about heard the whispered,
“Oh my god.” that followed.

A few seconds passed before his phone rang, and Leon’s confusion continued as he picked it up.
“Is she a good kid?” Chris’s voice came through the speaker and Leon fought the urge to reach through the phone and shake him for answers.
“Yes? Why?” He replied, finishing wiping down the kitchen counter with his phone held between his shoulder and ear.
“I’m transporting Rose somewhere for some tests in a few days and we’ll be travelling through your city on the way. Thought we could organise a playdate.”

“Mr Kennedy?” The doctor called, and Leon’s head slowly swivelled towards her.
“Hi.” He greeted a few seconds later, before his eyes landed on Claire and visibly widened.
“Hey mister.” She greeted with a smile, approaching the bed. The stunned look on his face only grew as she reached him, and her grin dropped slightly as he didn’t respond. “… You feelin’ okay?”
The silence stretched for several seconds before he finally responded, looking for all the world like he’d been hit around the head.
“Did… did it hurt?”
“What?” She replied, a little confused before he managed to blurt out the rest of his sentence.
“When you fell from heaven?”
“… Oh my god.”

Leon gets post-operative (temporary) amnesia after a minor surgery and falls for his wife all over again <3

Ch.1
“Just read something that said, ‘one time when you were a kid, your parents put you down and never picked you up again’.” She replied nonchalantly, looking up at him over the edge of the phone.Again, silence fell as Grace looked between them as the two stared at each-other.
“Okay?” She got out before Leon sighed, putting down the report he’d been reading and pushing himself out of his chair.
“Fine.” He grumbled as he approached Sherry, who laughed as she scrambled to leave the sofa.
“I was joking! I-” She didn’t manage to escape before Leon leaned over, putting an arm around her waist and hoisting her over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes. “Leon!”

Summary
"Can I…” Leon turned slightly to face her, hesitant as he gestured to Emily.
“O-oh- yes, of course.” Grace sat up a little, adjusting Emily in her arms in more of a carrying position before gently handing her off to Leon. She watched as Emily’s eyes fluttered open for a second, clocking the second she realized who was holding her and she shifted slightly closer, one of her arms coming up to grasp Leon’s t-shirt loosely before she fell back into slumber with a content noise. Smiling softly, Grace glanced up to Leon’s face before her expression fell. He looked devastated, curling his arms around the small girl more securely and sinking back into the couch cushions as if he was being physically pressed into them.
“… Sorry.” He whispered when he realised that Grace was watching him, and she shook her head.
“It’s okay.”

After a mission gone wrong, Leon and Sherry return home and Grace tries to help with the aftermath.

Summary
Pressing down on the pushchair break with her foot, Natalie reached into her bag with her free hand before the strap slid off her shoulder and into the crook of her elbow. “Oh for gods sake-”
“Can I hold anything?” Leon offered, knowing how inconvenient it could be to have to juggle about five things at once.
“Oh my god yes, thank-you, could you-” Instead of handing over a bag or her phone, she just handed him the crying baby without a second thought.
“Oh.” Leon managed to get out as he took it, not really having much of a choice. The baby looked up at him as he was unceremoniously handed over and there was a few moments of quiet before either of them reacted. “Hi.” Brain clicking back into place, Leon reached back through his memories to the foster homes he lived in as a kid that had had small children in it and he shifted the baby to rest more against his shoulder, supporting him how he hoped was still right.
