The sign outside the log cabin at the top of the hill said Donguri Cottage, and it had magnificent views of the Toyama Plain below. It was secluded and they had let themselves in using the key from the lockbox; no hotel staff to greet them. The idea was to stay out of sight of any tourists, knowing for the most part the locals would be respectful of their privacy if they were recognized.
