Kagetsu was flushed—thoroughly, beautifully so—from the tips of his ears down the line of his throat. His lips were parted, drawing in soft, trembling breaths that ghosted warmly against Hoshirube’s skin.
Hoshirube felt his own breath hitch. Kagetsu’s contrasting irises, normally a vibrant purple and sharp green, had gone molten and hazy, their intensity softened into something needy and unguarded. But what caught him especially were his pupils. Heart-shaped.
Oh, that’s what it was.
