When she had first heard the words coming out of Higgin's mouth, Liesel couldn't initially comprehend them. She registered the words and knew what they meant, the same way someone could read and process the words in a paragraph, but when realizing they were at the bottom of the page could not tell you what they had just read. That initial confusion, wherein the reality she had been living in collided with Higgin's words, had rapidly dulled her processing abilities. Then all at once, like crisp corners slapping into place, Liesel finally understood the situation.
So what was a little attempted murder.
(Liesel makes a good run to get into the New York Enclave. Unbeknownst to her, some cards are already off the table.
