Arthur watched as a slow and relieved smile wreathed across his son’s face. His happiness apparent that his secret was out.
“I didn’t Dad, not really. It’s just....just a big step for me and it’s difficult at school and truthfully I’m just coming to terms with it myself.”

It takes Arthur about thirty seconds to realise his phone is even ringing—there on the nightstand, vibrating against the wood and plunging the otherwise dark room in a glow of synthetic light.
“Mister Fox, I am sorry to disturb you. I am ringing on behalf of Henry Fox, who’s just been admitted to the New York Presbyterian Hospital for a minor injury. As his emergency contact, do you think you could make it to the ER in the next couple of hours?”
Emergency contact. Hospital. New York.
Henry.The son he hasn’t heard from in the last ten years.
